I think what this article is trying to say is Obama might issue another DACA/TPS like directive for a wider set of undocumented people in the US if Congress doesn't do anything on immigration. For DACA people, nothing will change since there's already DACA, but other undocumented populations might benefit.

This, I think, is a threat to Congress to do something on immigration and something like this Plan B, if that's what the Administration is going to do, is sort of like the climate change directive he did to please environmentalists. But we'll see.

Actually it does! There have been several individuals I know of that have used their TPS to apply for AP and be approved mainly on humanitarian purposes.

CIR is also right,The article is basically stating the options of the administration should any effort fail in Congress. It is also very unlikely that the Congress would approve a status that doesn't have travel authorization. We can only wait and see as to what the House Republicans propose via their piecemeal process as I believe as time goes on the Gang of 7 have probably ran out of time.

I actually think this is a not-so-bad idea. Give TPS to most and move DACAmented people ahead of the line to obtain residency, not citizenship since Reps cant stomach the idea of immigrants becoming so. Sad part is that the tax paid by TPS members (most of us as of now) goes to same same pool as everyone else that pay taxes. ironically, or rather unfortunate, immigrants are currently paying for the retirement of elder Americans and you don't hear complaints about that.

Now, who's helping who on the big scheme of things?.....

Man I am so disappointed at how many people just settle for things.. I feel like if undocumented immigrants had more pride and werent such pushovers we wouldn't be debating about a path.. Law makers know they can get immigrants to settle for this since most of us are so desperate.. Just disapointing the use me and abuse me most of you have, no damn respect for yourselfes.

People came to the u.s to better their lives. This would better them. Most people are looking for good, not perfect. You can't stand your ground when the ground itself is unstable.

For the Undocumented who have been waiting for 20+ years or even 15+ it's really not about the "The use and abuse me". Years go by man and there comes a point where the rope around your neck gets so tight that you can barely breathe. Everyone has a limit, and then if nothing at all happens this year it's the same old "Well will continue the battle after 2016" that's easy for those politicians to say because they haven't been in our shoes.

If they would give everyone a TPS while Congress grows balls to pass something then ok people can hold on because they can take out an I.D/License find a job and not be scared, because like some have said sooner or later SOMETHING has to happen but that has been going on since before 2006, so then it just keeps dragging and dragging on with the same thing and time flies.

I understand where you are coming from happyman but don't forget we are not entitled to anything. It's like sneaking into a movie theater without paying and then demanding the best seat.

I completely understand what you're saying, remember, you're not trying to convince someone to see your point of view when I myself am there, my family have been undocumented for longer than 15 years so we know.

What I'm trying to say is, it's that attitude of whatever they throw at us we accept it.. Why can't we say no and keep fighting for citizenship instead of saying fine and taking their tps.. We can fight for citizenship and if tps is the law of the land then you obviously take it, but don't throw in the towel and be completely fine with whatever these 2year term small town hill billy ex farmers give you..

Remember, democrats control the senate and the White House.. The House of Representatives is controlled by republicans but we only need 17 more democrats to take seats to have a majority... Don't let 17 members make a difference between tps and citizenship.. These are only 2 year seats. Don't settle my friends.
