Hopefully they are able to contact their family to tell them they're okay

I heard somewhere that they sent back the first wave of central Americans back to their countries. It would be unfair for second wave of immigrants to get tps and not the first ones that were shipped out of USA.

I don't understand the situation with the kids.

Are they being sent alone? Who is supposed to pick these kids up? Are the parents currently in the U.S. or did the parents send them?? Are the kids just walking across the border into the hands of Border Patrol or are they being caught? For what reason?

It isn't hard to get man. Basically families can only afford to send a few of their kids. So they gather the very little money they have and get close family friends who are crossing to bring them along. I know most of you came here legally on a plane then decided to overstayed your welcome but other people from other countries come here in horrible conditions. Asian people for example are smuggled inside shipping containers

That's not what I've been reading. From what I've read, the kids are being sent alone and in bunches. For what reason are they being sent by their families? Is it because they expect Obama to give them some sort of legal status like they did for us?

you clearly have no idea whats going on the, you see, when Bush was in office, they pass a thing where if kids were found crossing illegally, they would get "permisos" the republicans did this. These parents are using this hoop the republicans themselves allowed in Bush Era, NOT obamas

So clearly people don't know what's going on here. Ima break it down for you guys.

When Bush was president he passed a law that said if kids from countries other than Mexico and Canada were caught in the border they would get their case heard and would not be immediately deport like what happens to Mexicans. Mexican children get deported that same night or day.

Life is shit in the other countries south of Mexico. Idk how many of you grew up in Mexico but let me tell you that life was not a walk in the park in Mexico 17 years ago or still even today ( sorta) . That being said, life in countries like Honduras , el Salvador and Guatemala where most of these kids are actually from is complete hell or might as well be. Some of you talking out of your asses about these kids grew up in the US where u get free food at school a free education don't understand that we are lucky. Even if we are undocumented we have it a million times better than these kids ever did. And I don't care u can give me sob stories about how ur parents worked in the fields or how u had to work to help your family . Now imagine living in a fucken card board or dirt house. Your dad not eating to feed ur brothers and sisters.

This is what people do when they're desperate. People don't cross several borders and risk getting raped and killed because they want a free ride. They want a better future just like your parents wanted for u ungrateful pieces of **** that have the balls to say to deport these kids. They should just deport us all , might as well were illegals arent we ? Laws are laws right ? Oh yeah you want to make an exception just for u cus ur so special.

I don't think some of the people here or republicans are getting it.

These kids aren't an immigration issue, it's a humanitarian issue. Whenever there's a war or domestic issue, the neighboring country always gets a huge wave of immigrants. It's the country's moral duty to accept and accommodate these kids. These kids aren't looking for a green card or a huge salary in $'s, they are looking to merely survive.

No parent would send their kids off to an unknown place alone until the situation gets so dire.
