Then my parents applied for i-130 as greencard parent but the application is pending because of the priority date for family based applicants. So does this RAISE ACT if passed mean my i-130 application will be canceled? :'( is anyone else in a similar situation as I am?

I saw that F1 category moved like 4 months in advance for March 2017 VB. This was for all other countries. Also, now there is a 'Filing Date' which means the beneficiary can start to file few months earlier then the PD which is good as well.

*I chuckled*

On topic, The GOP like the Democrats have their own supporters and set principles. I don't think there is a shift at all, just that each faction is given their shot.

Total win-win.

Well somehow they are moving even further to the right.

Wait until they slip IR into a capped preference category and then none of us will ever be able to fix our statuses.

Only some senators/congressmen are.. but honestly they've always catered to racist ignorant hillbillies. The only difference is now they don't deal in dog whistles, they got a megaphone thanks to Trump. Remember, people used to think that a candidate like Trump could never win. He just showed how racist and ignorant the electorate truly is.

90% of green card holders probably vote democrat party after becoming citizen so it makes sense for republicans to want to reduce the number of green card recipients in order to slowdown the demographic shift that is going on against them. One can win only so many elections after losing popular vote.

most hispanics are more conservative than liberal. younger ones are very liberal but the middle age, old are conservative. they are pro-life, don't like gay marriage, religious. George W. Bush won 44-47% of the hispanic vote. These republicans can't get more than 30% because the keep insulting us. If they take away the immigration issue Republicnas will get 40+ perfect of the hispanic vote. Either way CIR will be hard to pass until Trump can say the border is secured and no more ppl will come here illegally. Then I can see CIR with a path to legal status pass and signed. Us Dreamers may get legal permanent status in 1-2 years if their are no terrorist attack and for the most part stay out of trouble. If their is a terrorist attack Trump will go berserk and go after all immigrants legal/illegal. Doesn't matter who committed the terrorist attacks.
