Here is UWD response from last year. They probably thought Hilliary was going to be the President when they wrote this.

United We Dream Opposes New Symbolic “Dream Act”

Stupid organization. Symbolic? He invested his time to write the damn bill. Damn it. I am telling all of you...contact the writer and voice your opinion, or else these stupid non-profits will fuck it up.

We don't even qualify for public assistance, except for state sponsored medi-cal in some states. I wonder if this applies to currently using or have ever used.

I understand man, but do not oppose it for these reasons. Shit works out in the end.

Maybe by symbolic they meant that at the time it was introduced there was a zero percent chance it would ever come to a vote? If UWD is against this then they are against any stand alone legislation that would help us...

UWD are a bunch of fools anyway. Their leadship sucks, they are bumbling about taking money for themselves.

If you support Curbelo's efforts, contact the writer of the article and let him/her know, or these non-profits that "represent" dreamers might voice a position that you dislike. This is typically the case with me. I honestly disregard any e-mail I get from these orgs. Bunch of crap.

If they keep fighting for "citizenship for EVERYONE including those with records" we are going to be doomed. That will keep hurting our chances. It's time to ditch the criminals and make the DACA/Immigrant community great again!

The bill would grant high school graduates without a serious criminal record — and who don’t rely on public assistance — conditional immigration status. If, over a five-year period, they earn a higher-education degree, serve in the military or stay employed, they could apply for permanent residency and, eventually, citizenship. Enlisted military personnel would get to seek naturalization right away.
Wait so if I stay employed but don't have a college degree do I still qualify?
