It seems it was a symbolic gesture on his part. Rep. Aguilar simply wanted to highlight that this is an issue that needs to be addressed somehow, but no details were discussed or worked out.

How can you watch that and still despair? We are all going to be alright! To see the republican chairman and everyone agreeing with finding a solution for us. It's awesome!

He offered and withdrew an amendment to add "report language to the department of justice to defend any court challenges that Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, the DACA program"

The reason he did this was so he could have a chance to speak up about DACA. He offered the amendment as a way to get recognized for speaking time and to be able to bring up the DACA issue.

This. Whether they pass Bridge Act or Dream Act the far right opposition would still call it amnesty. Might as well go for the permanent solution since both have about the same chance of passing.

guys we only have one shot here, if we can fight for something like RACA or Dream Act why settle for Bridge Act?
