Under 18, by law is a minor, does not matter if age is 17 years and 11 months! Please learn to be appreciative of fellow undocumented folks who may gain legalization from this DA bill.
Here we go again! There has to be a cutoff somewhere or nobody gets anything. We had this same discussion on here 4 years ago when we thought something was brewing. There was a guy here saying "What about LGBT? They should add gay marriage to the bill"...except LGBT folks are already citizens and ended up winning their own battle.

Then there were the "Permiso kids" who tried to ride on the coat-tails of DACA and a lot of people on here were "Oh you're so mean for wanting to get yours and leave them out" nevermind they became the face of DACA instead of people who really needed it. They almost destroyed DACA.

We should get something good passed first before getting accused of kicking the ladder.

Honestly at this point I have little sympathy for people who willingly come here illegally now. I'm sorry. If you want to call me a hypocrite, go ahead but things are different now than they were 30 years ago. There is absolutely no room for misinterpretation now that if you come here illegally, your life is going to be miserable. If you are an adult and do it or if you're an adult who sends your kid knowing that, then thats on you.

Personally I want everyone to be legalized, but if Rs aren't down, then we have to compromise. If they say "Nah. 16 and younger", we just have to accept it. I really hope people don't get upset over that just because they lower the age limit.

They can always negotiate that, they want to cover as many young people as they can but if that's an issue I guess they can say only DACAers.

Crossing fingers for all ppl the bill could cover as it is.

None, 16 and 17 year olds don't qualify for DACA (if I'm not mistaken).

"Came to the United States before reaching your 16th birthday;"

To your point, a person 15 years 11 months vs a 17 year 11 months is that the 17 year old is 1 month away from becoming a full grown adult. People against the DREAM Act will automatically take this negatively. They will start saying that the Dream Act is legalizing full grown adults.

Regardless, I think we can agree that this new age restriction could possibly make the DREAM Act more difficult to pass. We're already up against a lot. I don't disagree with you. I'm just saying it's riskier.

Knowing these people, they'll probably make it 18 and under but age limit of 30 and so someone who came here 5 years ago at 17 will get it and the older ones will get screwed again.

Why are you guys deciding what is a dreamer and what is the right cut off age? Who the hell are you guys to say what age you think is right.

I'd be happy for fellow DREAMERs if the age restriction was changed, and the DREAM Act passed like that. However, it is riskier. I wouldn't say it's selfish though.
I wake up every morning praying to god that no dreamer will ever make it to congress. The people behind this bill agreed 18 was the right as the people who made this bill. And here we have this Idiot who think she or he is above them and the cut off age should be 17

We're not.

We're trying to get a bill to the floor that is the most likely to pass. This new age restriction is not helping our odds.
