And we all know that waiver is not the easiest to get approved.

Plus I'm surprised no one is mentioning that DACA recipients would have a 13-15 yr wait to become citizens, and hence would not petition parents right away.
**Yes I'm aware we can petition parents as a LPR but by the time their Priority date is current it would have been the same as waiting until the DACA recipient was a US citizen
I'm aware of all of this, but you have to remember, you have people who blame us for being illegal and lazy for not "getting in line and applying for citizenship" All it takes is a few uneducated stories to put out those 2 million numbers and it'll create a wave of resistance towards any bill that grants us Citizenship, especially since Trump has already came out and rejected the idea. That woman from the "center for immigration studies" at the Commitee hearing yesterday already said about 2.4 million would benefit if we got Citizenship. You will have people pushing those numbers. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if Trump changes his mind in the coming days when the White House releases is frame work, if it ever does.

yeah i agree but the Republicans are just offering hella "poison pill" provisions that might kill the deal.

hella low ball offers to be honest.. if GOP wants all these provisions like border sec, end of chain migration, expedited deportations etc. then they should expedite our pathway to citizenship.

i hope the Democrats offer that and say, "if you want all these GOP immigration security provisions, then you should expedite the path to citizenship for DACA holders."

Like what do you guys expect from someone that describes hard to get aid to an island as "surrounded by water, big water, ocean water," I never thought I'd miss Obama's speech prowess so much. I'm surprised he didn't blame the people on the mass shooting for being easy targets.

He also scoffed at a person for saying she'd drink water purified by purifying tablets. Amazingly insensitive.
