So if Democrats decide to go the shutdown route, we still won't get DA, right?

Well the hope is once the GOP see they don't have the votes without the Dems (and that the Dems are serious about not voting) that they reach out to them come up with a compromise (ie: DREAM Act added with maybe some border security) and then government is funded and DREAMers have an awesome holiday/new year.

An agreement would have to be reached. I'm guessing at that point something like Bridge Act would pass.

At that point democrats should take a page out of republican playbook and vote for bridge act as a standalone measure and then vote down the budget bill.

Bridge Act is kicking the can down the road for 3 years with fewer benefits than DACA itself.

Doesn’t make any damn sense to shut the government down over a bridge act . I don’t know why some of you are so stuck on the bridge act .

But Democratic senators have significant leverage on the issue, since their votes will almost certainly be needed to avoid a government shutdown, which would take place if the two parties don’t hammer out a spending deal by December 8. DACA is high on the Democratic demands wish list, though senators may also insist that cut-off Obamacare subsidies and lapsed funding for Children’s Health Insurance Program also be included in any final bill. If Republicans agreed to include DACA, they would ask for concessions in return, which would likely include increased border security.
