Lol.

Stand their ground? Ok, lets say they stand their ground...nothing will ever pass. Of course they need to say they want a clean dream act. That's the starting point. Then you negotiate from there and it no longer is technically a 'clean' act. If they say clean Dream Act or nothing, we will get...nothing.

You're really forgetting about Government shutdown being just around the corner. They can definitely abuse that leverage.

You are forgetting that Republicans have control of the presidency, house, senate, and supreme court. Trump doesn't have to sign anything he doesn't like. That 'leverage' that we have assumes that every democrat will be on board, as well as some republicans. We only have leverage in a best case scenario.

The fact that we have ANY type of leverage to defend against a nationalist government is a miracle in the first place. We are on the defensive. If we go on the attack, we will lose.

I’m not trying to be negative but WE ARE NOT GETTING A “Clean Dream act “ Jesus Christ this is going to be a give and take situation where we have to get our dream act with minor tweaks from the republicans such as border security and no chain migration wake up people ...... it would me amazing if we got a clean dream act but that’s imaginary thinking

That leverage is the only reason a compromise is on the table. Otherwise it would be DEPORT DEPORT DEPORT.

I think at this point it would be stupid to continue asking for a "clean Dream Act" We need to drop that and should be seeking a compromise.

They are literally working out the initial deal Trump agreed on in Sept (DA + Border Security). Everything between then and now was theatrics from both sides.

We needed to drop that a while back, if Dreamers really mean that quite literally. I get the whole 'ask for the most and compromise in the end' tactic, but like I've said before, any Dreamer and ally needs to stop being delusional and expect, or more amusingly, DEMAND a clean bill. Won't happen.

Meh, I fully support a government shutdown, even if the end result is that Donny can't go golfing.
