Isn't it part of human nature to profile? Do you think our species would have survived, if Neanderthals punished each other for profiling their tribal rivals? I think not. You cannot escape that which is human nature, at it's core.

That's why I'm asking you.

In this case, it would be really dumb. The probability of a crime committed by a green card holding immigrant is orders of magnitude lower than a native born American citizen. It would be prudent to apply resources that would reduce crime overall vs going after a niche low probability event.

So you're ok with racially profiling in other situations as well? Like a police officer pulling over a dark skinned person because they look suspicious?

Key word: Look suspicious. If they look suspicious than by default you might want to be on alert.

If a dark person was circling around your house suspiciously would you be worried? I think so. I don't think you would say "wellll...can't be profiling. He is black after all, that is not right.."

I am 100 percent sure you'd profile.
