If he wants the wall he needs to be more flexible and give us the DREAM act not the BRIDGE or SUCCEED act.

Hoping they come up with a good deal soon how long will the legislative process take? Doesnt a bill go through like many different stages before becoming a law.

Yes, it's gonna take a lot of time. They need to get cracking. My SO's work permit is expiring in May and he's the one with the great paying job, not me.

2-12 months. DACA was about two month (June -> August), but USCIS probably had a head start. My estimate is 3-4 months, so if deal is reached end of January, and signed, you can probably expect sometime in June / July. I am going to jump on the first wave, fuck it.

I think Flake's bill give admin 180 days from the day it goes into effect, to create forms / provide training to USCIS officers etc. (it can be done faster but USCIS is given 180..) I think that is the timeline I would say 90 to 180 days before we can apply for anything would be something that we should brace for...

Now I am lucky / unlucky that my permit doesn't expire until Aug 28th or first week fo Sept... not sure / don't feel like checking at the moment.

Yeah, I don't want more than 3 months. Sure if we get the passage we win right? 180 days is good, 120 days would be even better. I am not greedy. 2 months!!!!! I don't remember if Obama administration did any speedy hiring post DACA announcement though. I think a few months later they did.

I think from day when he announced to when we were able to apply for anything it was around 90 days. I don't think they hired anyone but there was some type of "training" process.... which in my mind is ridiculous... but not the point I guess. Anyway yeah I think 2-3 months would be awesome... Green Cards in hand by Oct / Nov if something passes by end of Jan

President Donald Trump says he won't sign legislation protecting hundreds of thousands of young people brought to the country illegally as children unless Congress agrees to overhaul the legal immigration system.

Trump told reporters Saturday at Camp David that any deal must include an overhaul of the family-based immigration system as well as an end to the diversity visa lottery, which draws immigrants from under-represented parts of a world.

That's in addition to funding for his promised southern border wall and added border security.

Trump says he thinks Democrats will be on board with the plan, despite their concerns.

Trump has given Congress until March to come up with legislation to protect hundreds of thousands of young people who had been shielded from deportation and given the right to work in the country under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Trump says, "we all want DACA to happen, but we also want great security for our country."
D. Trump
