You are deviating from your point of "accents shouldn't matter" and "Diversity is warranted" but okayyyyyy

I have a really weird relationship with accents. I’m super self conscious about speaking because I’m always afraid I’m going to have an accent. I also have noticed that when I’m speaking to someone who is excessively articulate, I speak with a tiny bit of an accent and when I’m speaking to someone who barely knows English (a foreigner or white trash), it’s really easy for me to talk and to talk with a perfect American English accent.

Don't take it that way cause that's not what I meant.

We are in the fight of our lives and we know exactly what those who oppose us think of us. You can't just dismiss them saying "it's their problem" because that doesn't help us at all.

Think about it for a second. We are basing our position on "I'm just as American as you because I grew up here" and then you see some random brown dude with a heavy accent demanding green cards for all. Look at it from the other side's perspective. Changing the narrative can only help us at this point.

I bet you many of us here dont have a heavy accent. But once again I dont know what is your definition of heavy accent.

Just my two cents.
I think it's hard to stereotype a Dreamer.

We can have a European kid who came to America months old, a Latino kid who came at 10 years old, and a Asian who came at 16, and they are all Dreamers, that not taking in consideration what kind of neighborhood and family he grew up in.

My definition of Dreamers is someone who grew up here from early age, and have no where else as home but America. Someone who is law abiding, who's contributing to our economy, and even perhaps fighting for our freedom.

We are a extremely diverse group of people.

What is a perfect American English accent? I am not sure if you knew this or not, but everyone has an accent.

What is "white trash" English?

There’s actual real news going on and you guys are over here arguing about racism in the Dreamer community. Looks like the White House wants to limit citizenship to just people in DACA. This could be a big point of contention between Democrats and Republicans. This might sink a deal.

100% agree with you. But what can we do but pander to them.
They are one of the reasons why every time time something seems to be going in the right direction it gets pushed back. They start with their hate rhetoric and Trump takes a step back.
