This is what I'm thinking. He knows they can't have the wall without a compromise that includes us. He might be begrudgingly be on board with legalizing us because the wall matters more to him/Trump/the psychotic racist base than keeping us from legalizing.

Then why did Miller sabotage all the other efforts that included the wall? I'm expecting poison pills when they release the full text.

Did the previous efforts include the 25 billion? I can't recall right now. I remembered Schumer offered but not sure on the bill text. And who knows what compromises they've made to get Miller on board. You're right, expect poison pills.

I mentioned earlier that they might be wanting another 'win' for Trump in a history of failures. IF they're smart, they can ride this one out too to gather more support and have their numbers go up.

There was one point that Schumer offerend Trump full wall money (during the infamous cheeseburger dinner). It was then taken off the table after Trump said no.

Cancelling the DV and family cards, only allow 50,000 slots per year.

At that rate, it will take 20 years for the affected population to earn permanent residency.
if they remove adult children and siblings along with DV it will free up 162,000 (47k + 65k +50k) green card per year. so 11 years to cover all dreamer population (1.8 million). not that bad. hope they give priority to existing DACA applicants.

That was at a time when Dems were caving to what the GOP wanted. At least, that's my theory.Trump and Miller took a shot to get what they wanted on immigration and failed.

Sounds like the other compromise bill does not include the worst poison pill imho ....E-VERIFY.

And the problem is?

I'd rather have a visa till Im able to become a resident then have no legal status.

Future Democratic Congress could liberalize the law again and we will all be ok.

This must pass!

If this thing passes, my parents are going to get green cards before I do.
