We'd also have added animus about how we're shutting down the government for some illegals.

They used CHIP against us last time, they're using relief fund now....at least DACA is not getting dragged through the mud this time.

His base would never allow the Democrats to offer a single dollar at all. This shutdown is a political show.

What if I told you that all they care about is how they can make $ off the issue?

What do you people expect the Democrats to do here? Just bend over and give Trump his wall without getting anything in return knowing full well their power will be expanded greatly in a couple of weeks?
Come on, have you ever negotiated anything in your life?

Offer the Dream Act to Trump? He turned it and $25 billion down before. It's up to Trump to ask for it. Better yet, now that the Democrats will get the house soon, he should be BEGGING them for if if he wants his wall or something close to it to save face. Right now the Democrats have 2020 to think about too so they have to make Trump pay for his "Chuck and Nancy" sitdown. They have to make him squirm and not give him an inch until he comes to offer them things.

Rule 1 of negotiating: Don't negotiate against yourself. This is going to be an ugly ugly fight. Once TSA and Border patrol guy won't get their Jan 1st paychecks, all kinds of shit is going to hit the fan within Trump's supporters.

Rule 0: you bring daca to the table. Fuck 2020. That’s still up in the air and why wait until 2021,2022,2023,2024,2025,2026.2027.2028?

That's easy for you to say because you (and the rest of us here) have a one issue agenda. There are much bigger things than DACA in play right now. The time for a DACA fix was when they offered him 5 times more money than he's asking now. That ship has sailed. Besides, DACA is still in place for the time being.

We will see what happen in 2019. If SCOUS does not side with Trump, we gotta wait until 2021 or even worse.

Someone tell the Demcorats they need to act on the issue.

What about the Republicans ? Democrats at the house can pass all they want but ultimately it’s up to the senate you know the side needed to pass a bill, to also pass that same thing. Hell the Republicans still control the House now why don’t they not take a Christmas break and pass their own shit to give trump a wall?

Republicans must bring up DACA, not the democrats. Especially during this shutdown as last time, it ended badly for dems. Shutting down the government for undocumented people is a bad look and polls showed it. Dems can't bring the word "DACA" up at all or the republicans will say "look, dems shut down the government again over illegals". On top of that, the republicans last year used CHIP to say "look, dems don't care about american children over illegals". Now, republicans are offering disaster relief. If dems mention DACA, republicans will say "look, dems care more about illegals than people hit with disasters"

If in 2019 the Dems don't bring up DACA, then you can start blaming the dems. But the people that are blaming dems now can't see beyond their own self-interest. The earliest the dems can say anything about DACA is when they have control of the house, not a moment before.
