Yes that doesn’t help at all. Pure stupidity. Always renew that EAD. The fact is though the raid was not triggered because the EAD was not renewed, it’s because of recalendaring of the case (fucked up policy but hey it’s expected from Trump Admin)

"That said, all cases that were formerly administratively closed are being re-calendared.”

I'm a little confused here. I hope someone can clarify this for me!
She didn't renewed.
She had no criminal record.

However that statement above means (she might had a previous deportation order or something) that was closed but reopened?

I'm fucked.
With my DUI misdemeanor from 2007. I'm renewing now again! I'm a little worried like the first time I applied but what can I do.

I hope everyone stays out of trouble and have a fantastic Christmas.

Well DACA doesn't prevent re-calendaring unfortunately. It doesn't do much to prevent them from reopening the case and deporting us.

No you are not fucked calm down.
Do you have an IMMIGRATION case they could recalendar? No? Then you are fine.

Let those with a recalendarable IMMIGRATION case panic, as they rightly should.

But here is the question for all you smart people.

What if they were to automatically open cases for ALL DACA individuals? Is that even possible?

Thanx dude.

Honestly I think they can. I think they don't do it is because ACLU would be on their asses.

They took my DACA away for no reason. I talked to ACLU they did a law suit on behalf of me and others.
They won an I got my DACA back.

The article did not directly state that she was in removal proceedings. It only indicated a recent action on removal proceedings which someone may wrongly interpret as fact concerning the person in the article.

She was likely arrested because she was working unlawfully at a place that uses E-verify and her EAD was expired. case closed!

Sadly or not, there was more to this story, and looks like she had a conviction of domestic violence.

Quote:
Ramírez is not one of those affected by the Sessions decision (the reopening of more than 350,000 deportation cases that had been closed), nor did they stop her because she did not renew her employment authorization on time.

The immigrant was arrested by federal ICE agents because a mistake made in 2017, caused her to lose her legal temporary residence status, and also her rights to stay in the United States.

"Ramírez was arrested by the Azusa Police Department, California, on May 7, 2017 and accused of inflicting bodily injury to a spouse or cohabiting partner," the note adds. "The Office of Citizenship and Immigration (USCIS) notified you of the expiration of your DACA on July 7, 2017," he said.

ICE says Ramírez was convicted of assault on October 17, 2O17 in the Los Angeles Superior Court, "and sentenced to three years probation."

So she didn’t apply because someone told her not. USCIS revoked her status. And because of her conviction she was arrested by ICE.

Ice is basically waiting for us to mess up, and they’re keeping all eyes open to what we are doing. Looks like ICE isn’t going to their homes probably to avoid media drama but arresting them in public places. I guess that’s good? I am more worried about my family more than myself
