I only care about economic and foreign policy.
You sound like one of those immigrants that wants to shut the door behind them as soon as they get "theirs." That is a very poor view and it never gets anybody far. Hopefully you learn to change that view.

No, it doesn't mean that I don't care about social issues or economic issues. Off course I want equal rights for all, equal justice for all, and a basic playing field for all. I just fundamentally believe that as a whole we are all better off with capitalism than any other system. My parents came to America because of what America is, the land of opportunity and anyone can make it through hard work. Everyone goes through their own struggles in life but America is a great nation, it's sad that the main stream media is driving the narrative that America is not.

Yeah. I just don't get the complainants.

The USA is the best country in the world for anyone to start a business and move up.

Identify politics only keep people in power who don't care about you being successful.

I can actually make a list of which immigrants I care about
H1Bs: Some of them are pretty legit and deserve a fair chance at a GC.

DACAs: Self explanatory.

Others: I may have missed one or two others. Don't dreamactforum and cook.

Then the immigration policy of the united states should be reformed into being an uncapped system, BUT, it should be merit based like basically every other advanced nation.

Score X number of points, get extra points from family ties. Welcome. Got a good job that was posted to the internet, job boards with fair requirements that Americans could reasonably meet? Welcome.

Honestly the entire system could be fixed by doing 3 things:
1. Reinstate 245(i)
2. Get rid of re-entry bars
3. Increase quotas and the per country limit percentage. Literally the only reason why I think that the per country limit should stay is because without it Mexicans would crash the family system and Indians and Chinese would crash the employment system, maybe weight it by country population, idk. Still, if your system produces 20 year backlogs then frankly, your system is shit.

Then we can start thinking about updating the labor process because that shit hasn't been updated since 1990s. When's the last time anyone of us bought a newspaper. I used to do labor petitions for a living and we'd ask the applicants to fax resumes just to make sure that nobody except someone outright trying to piss off companies trying to do EB-2/3 would ever apply.

Canadian-esque merit system could work but I think you should have a job lined up or some relative willing to sign I-864 for you before you get your immigrant visa.
