Dude. Come on. You know the Senate is controlled by the Turtle, right? Get your mental ducks in a row.

The hurdle here is not Dems moving on this. It's this not passing the Senate and then getting signed into law by the Trump Admin. Those are the hurdles. It will never happen due to Republicans!

Jesus Christ. Get your brain checked.

That is the excuse the Dems give to you and you eat it up all the damn time. Where there is a will there is a way...Schumer and Durbin have enough power to get things rolling, but they are not going to be doing that. This conversation is not going anywhere. Just let it be and enjoy your forever EAD, that's what you wanted right...You got it, you won.

McConnell & Senate republicans have not made a counter offer. Trump has not made a counter offer either but threatened to end DACA again. No one knows exactly what they want in return so the democrats will do nothing. They win by default unless republicans give them a good DACA deal and they reject it.

I think some people in the Senate are starting to worry about their own election chances so hopefully they put some pressure on McConnell to do something.

There's not a lot of days on the legislative calendar left. Tick tick, tick tock.

This is the best assessment I've seen thus far. And once something is proposed, watch those Dems very closely. They will try to act like they care and try to back out slowly. Dems need to initiate some pressure now on Mitchy and Company.

Republican are not going to come up with anything worth wild for daca. They a sinking ship this Nov. You can come back and talk about Dem not moving on DACA in 2021 when they have majority control and the presidency.

Mitch himself is up for re-election so it'll be an interesting time. I don't see him make any comments on DACA, only talks about judges on his twitter. If dems reject a good DACA deal then Trump will unload on them and hopefully that's enough to actually get something passed.

By good deal, I mean you can't even argue it's a bad deal. Just some money for whatever project (most likely border security) for USA ACT or better. If the deal tries to touch any immigration law, then dems have a reason to reject it and they probably will. Really the best move politically is to do nothing until after the election for dems, they have the upper hand in this situation.

I just don't think you'll get Miller & Co's approval so chances are slim unless they're pushed to the side. If Trump gives a good deal, dems might take it. Both sides will brag but Trump will win back latino votes before 2020. Taking DACA away is also important because DACA enjoys a lot of support. Trying to kill DACA a second time without any good deals to offer will lose the latino vote for sure and that has very strong implications. One senator in Texas (Cornyn) is up for re-election and he might lose because of it.

Which is what will end up happening. Hopefully, there is a change in administrations and Biden keeps his promise to deal with this immediately.

I'm taking this as posturing. Should they decide to pursue termination, they will have to follow the APA which requires a two-month commenting period which will be followed by a similar wind-down of the program. That's too close to the election and with this being a program supported by 85% of likely voters, could put the Senate in jeopardy.
