Politics are shifting after this election. The priority will be COVID and the economy, but with the right timing, I think republicans can accept a bill with daca. There would need to be something to entice the GOP but it can be done, just not right away. The most polarizing figure is out of office.

Don't forget, the Hispanic vote really helped the GOP this election. That can easily shift.

The only Hispanic vote that help the GOP was the older Cubans in Fl, it's hilarious to read responses here, it feels as if Ted Cruz was responding and making excuses not to legalize the Dreamers lol and the rest of deep rooted undocumented population of this country.

There will always be the 2 out 10 Hispanics that would vote for a MAGA type GOP candidate but the majority of those votes would go democrat, because that is the best chance they have to be fully integrated into the US.

Drain in the system ? most undocumented immigrants in the US have been paying taxes for years, if anything they are a freebie lol

Some Dreamers here are very weak, they have fallen victim to the GOP propaganda.

For those of you who are saying that the presidential election did not matter. DACA is going to be reversed on day 1 via Executive order. Can we say that if Trump won?

Of course we all prefer Biden , but that’s not to say we should celebrate yet if the senate is likely going to be leaning R . We’ll just be living pre trump which is better than living under trump lol but not a solution

Due to filibuster, we need 60 votes and keep in mind that not all Dems voted for DA, so I don't think anything can pass. Repubes will filibuster pretty much every single bill just like they did in Obama's second term.

if the Dems take a majority, they should try to get rid of the filibuster. they need to play dirty how they got played dirty the last 6 years by Mitch McConell.

I don't think a clean Dream Act would pass, but I also think that you'd have an easier time negotiating for CIR with the worst democrats (e.g. Tester (MT), Manchin (WV)) than you'd have with the best republicans (e.g. Collins (ME), Murkowski (AK)).

Filibuster is really past due for a nuke anyways.

This is pretty much the story of the next few months to come. However, Joey has had good experience with Mitchy and we can only hope now that the two can get on the table and just hash out some deals. They've worked in the Senate together and frankly Mitch should see how Trump lost and clearly the people have spoken, they want this Congress to pass some bills. Dream Act + Border Security is long overdue. It should be the first item to pursue as part of broader CIR.
