America will be fine. Trillions of dollars spent in the middle east in 20 years, many American lives lost. Every General in those 20 years saying progress was being made. There's no way the Taliban could've taken Afghanistan so fast if their own people fought and they had US military supplies. Whatever the US and allies were doing, it was not working and it is now obvious. The saying goes "you can lead a horse to water but you can't force it to drink."

It may look bad but what's worse is spending another 20 years, trillions more dollars, and more American lives for what? The Taliban takes 2 months instead of just 1 month to take over the entire country? Pulling out is a good call. Both Trump and Biden wanted to pull out of Afghanistan.

They should’ve exterminated the Taliban. It wasn’t enough to train and protect Afghans.

In order to exterminate the Taliban, the US military and allies would've had to engage in military practices which are not acceptable in the 21st century. The Taliban, sad as it may be, control Afghanistan because it is a very tribal divided country with no sense of national identity. Loyalties are never to the nation or even ethnicity, but to one's tribe.

The ones who really fucked up here were the Pentagon and CIA in November/December of 2001. This is when they had bin Laden cornered in the mountains and within an inch of killing him, but decided to back off. Had they done this, Bush should've declared mission accomplished and pulled out.

The issue is that Taliban hide behind civilians and it's hard to distinguish the two groups correctly 100% of the time. When you accidently kill civilians, you give people reason to join Taliban. It's a lose-lose situation for the U.S, can't win a war like this.

Maybe you should have enlisted to go fight over there?

Imagine a DACA regiment lol, the Talibans had something to fight for and we didn't, we were technically the invaders. Osama is dead, if they wanted freedom, these afghan security forces or guards would've fought for their own homeland instead of cramming the airports trying to flee.

Yes I’m sure if I had enlisted there wouldn’t be all this chaos going on right now. I’m the messiah

Very good question. I think someone like Ianus or Demise might be able to help here or else I would definitely ask some attorney friends that you know.

Prayers for Afghanistan.

Dress it up as significant change in country conditions.
