It's downright impossible to speak to the "correct person" at MDC for any issue. No way to leave messages or email a request that will actually be responded to. I'm going straight to FIU.

PM me for updates.

Hello I was wondering if Valencia Community College in Florida gives me in-state tuition, I got my SSN and I graduate this year, I haven't had a chance to go to the office yet but from what I heard they hardly accepted undocumented students this was in the past but I don't know about now? I need some information beforehand or how should I go about this? thanks for any help.

Effective June 15, 2012 - Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals

Effective June 15, 2012, certain individuals who meet specific guidelines may request consideration of deferred action from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Individuals who receive deferred action will not be placed into removal proceedings or removed from the United States for a specified period of time unless terminated. If you receive deferred action, you may be eligible for employment authorization.

Note that deferred action does not provide an individual with lawful status and is irrelevant to proving Florida residency for tuition purposes. All newly admitted and re-admitted students must complete the required affidavit and provide valid proof of Florida residency to qualify for in-state fees.

http://www.mdc.edu/main/flresidency/classification.aspx

If I am reading and interpreting this correctly, it means they won't be allowing us to pay instate tuition correct?
It is saying since it isn't considered legal status it is irrelevant?

Please someone tell me I am wrong. . .

it sounds that way. you'll probably have to wait a year before you can qualify for in-state tuition. FIU offers waivers so that even though you are still considered out of state they cover part of your tuition so you end up paying the same amount as in-state students.

I just went to Valencia today (Osceola Campus) in Florida & I was turning in the things to show them I'm a resident & that went fine but at the end she tells me that recently (April 30th) a law passed that Deferred Action people can't get in-state tuition anymore. Is this true? Or is it just Osceola that says this because I hadn't heard/read anything about this. If it is true, are the going to fight against this law or what? Please help, thanks.

I don't see how this could possibly be true. We would have heard something on the news or someone would have posted something here. Plus, if it is a law then it would be for all of Florida and there are other universities who are allowing it. I think you should try asking another person and if given the same answer ask the laws name or something so you can verify it. If it exist there has to be a record of it somewhere. If the person who is helping you can't answer questions keep bothering them until you get someone who can. Keep asking, keep questioning, do all you can. It's amazing how some colleges have extremely uninformed employees who will say whatever in order to move onto the next person in line.

I can't believe I missed out on this piece of news for the past two-three weeks, but Colorado has now passed the ASSET bill, allowing undocumented students to pay instate tuition. Students must have been enrolled in a Colorado High School for at least three years and graduated in a Colorado High School.

Kinda like in Texas. They make you sign an affidavit stating you've lived in Texas for 12 months, went to a Texas high school and graduated, and intend to become legal when possible.

Hi, sorry if I'm necroposting, but I'm basically completely new to this. I recently got my DACA, and as I just finished my junior year, I'm looking into colleges/financial stuff. I happen to live in California, which is one of the states that OP has listed. Does that mean I qualify for in state tuition?

Edit: Also, will I be eligible for FAFSA? Or am I correct in assuming that I am not?
