MIAMI, FLORIDA PEOPLE:

It's official MDC will be granting us in-state tuition like FIU!!! You have to apply and receive a waiver. Searched online and finally found this confirming it!

Minnesota passed the Minnesota DREAM ACT back in March, 2013. The MN DREAM ACT includes In-State tuition in all colleges, State financial-aid, and the ability to aply for schorlaships. Its awesome!!!!

I think you should try asking another person and if given the same answer ask the laws name or something so you can verify it. If it exist there has to be a record of it somewhere. If the person who is helping you can't answer questions keep bothering them until you get someone who can. Keep asking, keep questioning, do all you can. It's amazing how some colleges have extremely uninformed employees who will say whatever in order to move onto the next person in line.
Honestly, I am very familiar with what the poster stated. I recently went back to Broward College to re apply; it's been a year since I've been in school. I presented all my documents and paperwork, the person who I was speaking with looked at them, and then took out some sort of booklet. Then she proceeded to tell me that some sort of law past and that DACA beneficiaries are not allowed instate tuition, and must continue to pay out of state tuition until their status changes. Needless to say, I will not be returning to school yet again. Paying a grand out of pocket is grueling, especially when I'm more deserving than others who don't take advantage of governmental aid.

I'm not really sure if this has been discussed extensively...but the Valencia situation. If I were to apply to that community college..will they really offer me instate tuition. I really want to know what measures I should take and how to proceed. I've been on my AA for about six years now..it's horrible.

I graduated from FL, and as far as I know, it doesn't mean nothing.

I tried to go to community college, but I had to pay out of state tuition, and I lived in FL 11 years.

So some colleges in Indiana used to offer in-state tuition at one point but that is not the case anymore??? is this correct? . Some one had posted a while back that IUPUI did and IVY community college but i wonder if it included any IVY in the state of Indiana or just the one in Indianapolis? Does any one know?

GREAT news for everyone in Florida. Florida House of Repersentatives ratified a bill making qualified undocumented immigrants eligible for in state tuition at public universities and community colleges!! The Senate has approved it and Rick Scott has promised to sign it as soon as it reaches his desk.
I go to Valencia & I've been on Channel 9 news to talk about this..It really is great news for us Floridians. We're the 21st state to do this, right after Virginia!
The DREAMers at Valencia College really fought for this guys, so proud to go to that school that went all the way to Tallahassee and fought for this right! Jose Abastida played a huge role too, talked to the FL senators about why they should pass it. I have a newspaper in print but google Osceola Star and you should be able to find it.
