Yea no problem. By the way anyone with a pending deportation or some type of immigration court proceeding will more than likely go through this. It is called a "Stocks interview". The reason being that since you have a pending removal order you're more likely to commit marriage fraud . Theirs several types of interview tactics that they use, familiarize yourself with them so you are more at ease when going in there. We were caught off guard and that really made me nervous because I am a direct kinda person, I answer what is asked and nothing more. My interview was 10 mins at max. My wife, she is more of talker, she likes to explain herself and give details so with her they went over our album and more specifics in terms of colors of certain items, year of car, type of car, where I park, why I park there, etc. While I was called in to basically just confirm what she was saying. Her interview lasted about 35 mins. So with this kinda interview they will be detailed oriented on people in both your lives. Who they are, what they mean to you etc. By the way only reason why I know is cause my attorney was very specific on the type of interview we just had and why it went the way it did.

Has anyone filed AOS with 245i without a lawyer? My husband and myself have been together for 6 years. We have 2 children. We’ve been married for 4 months and are now looking to start the process. I did enter without inspection so I will have to pay the $1000 fee since I’m grandfather under the 245i. So far I have consulted with one lawyer and her flat fee is 5000 plus immigration fees. I will continue to see if there’s a cheaper lawyer but just curious if anyone has done it on their own with a similar case.

This is correct. "Stokes" is probably the most difficult interview that one can get. They are primarily interested in what the US citizen spouse has to say.

In most nominal interviews, it is simply to provide bonafides and verify questions on the pending application.

Haha thanks for correcting me man, I did not look up how to spell "Stokes" 😅😅. And yea that's what it seemed like, everything was directed at her, all the questions, and why we did things a certain way etc. Just make sure your wife/husband knows you well. Even the size of underwear you wear lol. Am basically on a 120 day wait, even though my attorney said that more than likely our case will be approved within a month period.

I filed AOS with 245i but with a lawyer. That amount sounds like twice the amount but it maybe worth it depending on how complicated your case is. Just 1 EWI right? What petition was filed on or before 4/30/01?

Yes. Only 1 when I was 2 years old in 1994. On my dads notice that I’m under it says I130 with a priority date of April 30, 2001 notice type 203 (a)(4)

It can very by the Agent who has your case and their workload. In my case she made us fix something and once we provided the info she needed it was approved that same day. Good luck!
