It finally dawned on me as to why us immigrants become and stay political footballs year after year as a lot seem to have zero loyalty to any party who gives a quarter of a Shit about them and their plight.. Some literally were making the case for why they don't deserve any politician putting their necks on the political chopping block for them. The minute they get any kind of status They will turn on a dime and support the party that is blatantly anti immigrant because now that they already have their foot in the door it is now time to keep the other immigrants from getting in. The others still looking for status start turning on each other groveling for scraps from the right wing party who despises them. Maybe they feel republicans will have a heart if they act like good little undocumented immigrants and say positive gushy things about their scum bag president. I don't mean to minimize the position we are all in as it is a desperate one and I know desperate time calls for desperate measures but why anyone in their right state of mind would think trump was gonna be the same or better for dreamers is mind boggling, they must have been was sipping on some ice cold Foolaid. It is this type of BS that helped trump get elected. You would think the way he dogged out Hispanics he wouldn't have gotten a single vote from them but surprisingly -yes he did.

I hope this is a political distraction from the Russian scandal and hopefully trump won't follow through but I have zero optism as Trump is literally satan incarnate.
I disagree. I hate this assumption that immigrants (particularly undocumented immigrants) should lean democratic. Yes, the democrats tended to support us, but we are also not helpless little creature who will support whoever says nice things about us. We are thinking, intelligent beings bwith diverse experiences and diverse political opinions.

I tend to lean a bit more conservative, yet still disagree with how republicans have treated immigration and many other issues. We are bound to the democrats right now by our circumstance of being undocumented. That does not mean that we don't have the capability to think, change opinions, and disagree ideaologicall with democrats on many issues.

Please keep it like that if you cannot understand people have different political views than you.

Howard Dean just said that if DACA is not fixed legislatively , apart from a clean debt ceiling hike , the democrats won't cooperate with republicans on ANYTHING else . Something positive will come out of all this for us.

I wonder what positiin you are in to be following blindly along with Democrats. You do know at that some point Democrats declared comprising is not an option. This is toxic and will not get us anywhere.

If we do not compromise, we risk losing everything. We do not have the luxury that citizens have to be loyal to a party that risks fucking things up. We have dreams to realize and bills to pay--but maybe you don't have it as bad as we do and judge why some of us are PRAGMATIC and focus on compromising rather polarization.

This is not a tv show; this is real life. A lot is on the lone to be siding with democrats and refusing all and any compromise.

You're telling me none of the 97 republicans in the house that currently cosponsors the ENLIST Act would not vote for the BRIDGE Act at the very least to help us if push comes to shove, how would they justify that. I strongly believe we will be alright, we just need to keep the pressure on.

No, I am being realistic here.

We have a republican congress that cannot even pass its own agenda. Even Tax reform will be hard to pass.

This 6 month delay is the worst possible scenario. In this six months, we will be attacked and time will bury the urgency in the minds of people. 6 months from now no one will remember DACA is even a thing that ever was.

But the debt ceiling bill is the easiest to attach to since it has to come to the floor this month, and ppl have to vote for it. This is not good.

So you rather it be immediately rescinded?
