You're thinking about the 2 year college requirement but that would be to adjust from RPI to PR (5 years from now).

No, the requirements to get a green card from RPI is you must complete 2 years towards a bachelors or high or 4 years in the military (or 2?)

These are NOT the requirements for RPI

but for lawful permanent status

For the family petitions it says you must be here waiting for 5 years on the petition and then you can adjust in Oct 2014.

Ok. Let me get this straight. RPI does Not mean that you get a conditional green card correct?

almost done reading it and I have yet to come across this...

but I may have missed it

Yes because in RPI, the P does not stand for permanent but provisional

Read it.
This is a good post and should be put in the OP

we need to make our OWN FAQ

Quote:
(a) Institution of higher education
For purposes of this chapter, other than subchapter IV, the term “institution of higher education” means an educational institution in any State that—
(1) admits as regular students only persons having a certificate of graduation from a school providing secondary education, or the recognized equivalent of such a certificate, or persons who meet the requirements of section 1091 (d) of this title;
(2) is legally authorized within such State to provide a program of education beyond secondary education;
(3) provides an educational program for which the institution awards a bachelor’s degree or provides not less than a 2-year program that is acceptable for full credit toward such a degree, or awards a degree that is acceptable for admission to a graduate or professional degree program, subject to review and approval by the Secretary;
(4) is a public or other nonprofit institution; and
(5) is accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency or association, or if not so accredited, is an institution that has been granted preaccreditation status by such an agency or association that has been recognized by the Secretary for the granting of preaccreditation status, and the Secretary has determined that there is satisfactory assurance that the institution will meet the accreditation standards of such an agency or association within a reasonable time.
so its up to the Secretary to decide whether the program you are is acceptable or not

I'm hoping it means that the background checks on the individual have cleared and is not instead referring to the 6 months that they have to come up with a plan to secure the border and whatnot. As for the status, I'm pretty sure they're referring to granting DACA approved the RPI.
AHHHHHH

alright

so basically we do another background check so they can make sure we havent gotten in trouble since we were daca approved?

I’m trying to find it in the bill but I can’t find it if anything like this exists.

I qualify for the Dream Act (too old for DACA at 33) under this bill so I will apply when it is approved, however, I married a US Citizen in 2004 and we have two daughters. I’m EWI so I can’t adjust without leaving the country. I understand that the time required to be away from families has been shortened by form I-601A, but it would still require me to leave and the form says that I am ineligible because I already had an interview scheduled to appear (in which I didn’t show up because of the 10 year ban). It also doesn't guarantee that I'd be let back in?? I don't know.

My case is complicated and I'll be seeking legal advice (again) once this is all passed. I have a valid SS given to me when I was a child with my name on it. I use it to work while claiming citizenship on I-9. The legal advice I got two years ago was that I still couldn't do anything because of the EWI.

So with this new proposed bill, is there a way to adjust my status to Permanent Resident without having to leave at all? Or just go the DA route? I have my BA.
You know, there was a waiver that just pass recently regarding this, but you would qualify under 245B (th eone for our parents) and you would have RPI but isnce you claim citizenship on your 1-9 you might not be eligible under this bill since you are above 18
