^That thought has occurred to me as well since the whole CI thing seems to be up in the air, the two things you do have control is verifying SSBI status as well as NIAC, so if you know for fact those aren't completed, you ain't going.

If you didn't know already:

SSBI status > call OPM and find out directly via self check, they can tell you whether it's in process, or closed.

NIAC, recruiters can look up your contact/comment history in profile.

Do you know if Koreans will have a tougher investigation process since the reason why they are introducing a new policy is because some Koreans caused problems in the army?

^Huh? Don't rely on those ridiculous rumors. That one I've never even heard of.

So as it turns out reservist are legally allowed to submit their n400 packet as long as their n426 is signed by their co. This is never done before for regular mavni and it's a more of a despearate attempt to get legal with all the wait. I got few mavni reservist that have told me they submitted their paperwork and I'll update here if I hear anything

Please consult with an AILA lawyer whose familiar with mavni before attempting

haha I knew about this since 11/23 when ltc stock mentioned it in the comment. I have already got N426 signed by the commander probably will submit my packet in january

Unless there's a benefit of having the n400 in process, I would rather wait until BCT. From what Ltc. Stock posted today, it's basically expedited processing through BCT (2 to 3 months), or send it in by ourselves and risk the 8 to 10 month processing. I'd be concerned about if we do ship by summer/fall, how that would muck up the reception/rest of the process, etc. Holding off for now, at least at my end.

i think the processing time really depends on your area mine is around 4.5 months for naturalization, so even if I apply around Jan. I should be able to get it before June if possible. Thinking that we won't be shipping out until FY2018 and knowing that all 4300 MAVNI can't ship out at the same time so I'd have at least 3 months + BCT + @ earlier than other MAVNI applicants. I'm gonna consult with a lawyer but if you don't have to then there's extra no reason for you not to?

I guess we will find out in the next few months. Gotta thank the amedd mavnis for coming out about this tho. Not much for the AD, but this would help a lot of the people in the reserves
