But did you get a case update reflecting it on your USCIS case status?

Question about AOS. My AOS is a bit different as it's not thru marriage. My AOS is from an approved I-130 filed by my mother. She is a U.S. citizen. I also qualify to adjust status under 245i. So no problems for me adjusting status without having to leave the country.

The I-130 was filed November 3, 2010. I now have DACA. I've basically been waiting for my priority date to become current to file AOS. According to the October 2016 visa bulletin, I can file for AOS as my priority date is now current. My priority is F1. The chart under DATES FOR FILING FAMILY-SPONSORED VISA APPLICATIONS is the chart USCIS says should be used to file AOS. My question is do I just go ahead and file AOS or do I have to wait for some sort of notification by the NATIONAL VISA CENTER. This is what the visa bulletin says:

" The chart below reflects dates for filing visa applications within a timeframe justifying immediate action in the application process. Applicants for immigrant visas who have a priority date earlier than the application date in the chart below may assemble and submit required documents to the Department of State’s National Visa Center, following receipt of notification from the National Visa Center containing detailed instructions"

I've contacted NVC via e-mail 2 days ago but have yet to receive a reply.

I actually had the same type of application you did. 245i under F1 AOS, though I chose to remain in the F2B since it had an earlier priority date. No, you won't get anything from NVC since you will be adjusting status in the US. Go ahead and get your forms filled out and mailed!!!! Best of luck.

Thanks for the quick reply. So basically that paragraph where USCIS says to apply only after notification by NVC is just USCIS BS?

I'm not surprised. I am thankful for DACA but USCIS is so poorly run.

Thank you Venus for the bump. Dreamer921 is right. NVC has nothing to do with the case. I contacted them via e-mail and their reply is to contact USCIS. That statement in the visa bulletin regarding contact by NVC before AOS is for people who are doing consular processing. People like me adjusting status from within the U.S just have to deal with USCIS.

I guess it's time for me to get everything ready and send it ASAP. It's going to be costly but I am glad to be at this point.
From what I gather the I-485 is $1070 and the Supplement A is $1,000.
