1) Age cap reduced to 25.
2) leave the country before apply.

I dont like any of these amendments, i wish they just have same bill next time too. I will not be intresting in DA if they got 2nd one in it.I dont have to worry abt 1st one since i am 21 but, I will still wish age lomits stays to 30, so most dreamers will be inckuded too. This is just my guessing that republicans might come to talk with these two and border security.

I haven't gotten married because i would have to leave the country if i do lol, i don't think they will add that to dream, this is what i think

1. lower age cap to 25, yup
2. must have been here for at least 10 years
3. pay a fine
4. will never sponsor anyone

and that's it, i hope they take away the 10 year waiting period before becoming residents, that seems too extreme.

I understand the need for more stringent requirements, but 1, 3, and 4 are all pretty arbitrary.
  • Lowering the age cap is unjust.
  • Paying the fine is unjust as it signifies a concession of guilt for some crime or offense. The whole point of the DREAM Act is granting benefits to those who committed no wrong doing to begin with.
  • Not being able to sponsor anyone is also unjust as in the event that a DREAM Act beneficiary gains citizenship in 20 or so years, they would then be considered lesser-class citizens, as they would not hold the same rights as other citizens. You can't have two types of citizens. Incidentally, I think a fundamental flaw with the constitution is the requirement for a president to be a native born American citizen. This suggests that a natural born citizen holds more rights than naturalized citizens. God damn, America is fucking stupid to its core. I know me saying this must be sending some Birthers more bat-shit insane than they already are.

Why stop at lowering the age cap at 25? Why don't they just make it more sensible and lower it to age 18, because at age 18 we all could have left without consequences. Somehow I don't see anyone rooting for that though because as long as the people rooting for age cap is within that cap they are fine with it, but You can bet the if they age out they would have a different perspective

I can't be the only one thinking that Filibuster reform has no way in hell of passing with all the republicans coming in next year?

On the first day of the new Congress, the Senate can pass new Filibuster rules with a simple majority.
