A Republican will be a Republican. They're attempting to pass something "humane" but it's still all BS, in my opinion. They have yet to work with Democrats on a bi-partisan immigration relief effort.

Obama will not have this. If there is anyone backing up Dreamers to gain citizenship ASAP, it's him.

Also, WTF do we need a Visa for?! We need and DESERVE permanent legal residency, not a path to it... we've been on a "path" to it for way too long. AND they are dropping the age to 28. It's a crock of sh*t!

What are everyone's thoughts on this??
The only thing you need and deserve is to be deported. Anything more is a gift. Calm down.

I don't mind as long as something comes up.
I've stayed here illegally for about 16 years and now with EAD and state ID but still illegal.
Living another 10+ years as a LEGAL resident, I can take it.
I am ready to take whatever status except student visa.
I geuss something is better than nothing.
I have high self-esteem and am confident in myself but I don't deserve anything higher as an illegal alien.

A bill introduced by two retiring Republican Senators during a lame duck session where the fiscal cliff negotiations are dominating has no chance to be even discussed in the Senate now. It may provide some kind of framework for the Republicanns who are looking for an alternative to the DREAM Act for the next Congress... But, I don't see the point...

The age requirement needs to be changed.

This just pisses me the hell off. As one of the other members pointed out, those who have a removal order will not be able to qualify for this so called "ACHIEVE ACT". So tell me, since we were brought here through no fault of our own, how exactly is a removal order our fault??? It's so fucking thoughtless and illogical to have that in there, like COME ON.
But, I am not worried at all about this because it doesn't stand a chance for passage, and like Senator Hutchison said it's just to get the ball rolling.
My opinion is give us a conditional green card for 2 years and after we would qualify for a permanent one, then 5 years later we would apply for citizenship. That's 7 years of wait and plus the time we have already waited (in my case 12 + 7 = 19 YEAR wait for citizenship).
As far as the age limits go 15-32 should be fair enough IMO.

I don't care what steps I have to take or how long I will still apply. There is no way I am going to be " fuck it its too long" and remain without status. I dont know why you kids complain. We already have DACA and anything more than that is great in my perspective. If you want something work hard for it and dont just wait for a green card to rain down the sky. for me at this point in my life I will take which ever path is passed.
