People approved for RPI can enlist in the military:
Quote:
(b) ENLISTMENT IN THE ARMED FORCES.—Section504(b)(1) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following: ‘‘(D) An alien who has been granted registered provisional immigrant status under section 245B of the Immigration and Nationality Act.’’.

no far no mention of benefits, so it looks like as told, no federal benefits of any kind with RPI status

it looks like even with DACA we are getting RPI after all =/

Dream Act (p 110, line 4)

First, dreamers must apply for CPR (conditional/provisional permanent resident). After meeting certain conditions, Dreamers can apply of PR.

To adjust for Permanent Residence (Green Card)
1. Have CPR for at least five years
2. Arrived in the US before 16 years old.
3. Earned a High School Diploma or GED
4. a. Acquired a degree from an accredited college/university or at least 2 years into one. OR b. Served in the military for at least 4 years.
5. Submit Biometrics (fingerprints, photo, background checks)

DACA recipients (p 115, line 22)
1. Are grandfathered into the Dream Act
2. Would be provided streamlined procedures-it's up to the Secretary of Homeland Security-for CPR.
*Meaning: Those who have applied and have been approved for DACA would be processed/adjusted (faster?) for CPR.

Dreamer --> CPR --> PR --> Citizenship.

It's 1:30 am where I'm at. This is the best summary I can make of it.

**Please note that this is the Gang of 8's plan. The bill is still subject for debate/amendments. Plus there's the House Bill as well**
