I think we aren't putting ourselves out there enough. I genuinely think we need caucasian dreamers, and dreamers of different nationalities (besides latino), to step out and show the opposition that its not all about a Mexican amnesty.
Most people I encounter and tell about DACA, think its all Mexican children, and a 'brown people issue." Its really shitty, but most Americans would sympathize with white, english speaking, young people terrified about losing everything.
This is a new generation, where we have technology, and ways to get out there that were not an option when the early 2000's dreamers were fighting. We should all mobilize somehow, and tweet, and get out there on social media, if shit starts hitting the fan. We need to express more of our pride for the U.S. and ask for compromise from both sides, and make ourselves heard, as we push the Dems to fight for us and take action in a way that isn't fear mongering, like Univision.

please call your representatives, i already did so by contacting Senator Harris and Durbin.

tell them they have to compromise on legalization for DREAMER's, they have to make concessions on border security and other proposals that conservatives want on an immigration bill.

propose an amendment on Kate's law to add RACA, ENLIST, and BRIDGE. The Senate GOP only have 52 votes, they need 8 Dems for any immigration bills to pass.

there really isnt any other way.

Some of you are something else. "DACA is seen as a Mexican 'brown' immigration issue..." WTF?? Of course, because it is. The majority who fough for it are Mexican immigrants. The people being harrassed, criminalized and detained are mostly Mexican immigrants. The other nationalities are reaping the benefits, but you don't want those who own the progress to show their faces?? No.

I have called Senator Durbin and senator Hariss as well. We are fighting for our life , our family, our career , most importantly our future . No more life of fear !

Democrat got to compromise on something with GOP ! RACA is best solution for us . Bridge Act is good as well but it's only temporary !

Right now the Senate has the ability to save as many ppl as possible from the deportation machine. RAC Act and a legislative resolution that codifies deportation priorities.

Thats not the case at all.
I think we all need to come together and make it known that there is a bigger pool of people that DACA directly benefits. How many times have you heard, or seen DACA recipients OF DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES in the media being mentioned, and publicly speaking about the issue?
I haven't seen ANY. This forumn has Polish, Irish, African, and asian DACA beneficiaries, and it would not hurt our cause to get more faces out there fighting.
The majority of people in this country are ignorant about DACA/DAPA/eDACA, and think this is a pathway for citizenship, so you do the math.

You are still saying its better to put a whiter face out to represent us because its telling them that DACA is composed of white people too But as drt said, ultimately, are Mexicans not the ones getting all the heat? I don't see a problem with Mexican people (or someone with a dark brown face) showing face for us because its them who (by fault of being the majority here) are the ones getting all the heat here.

By this I am no way dismissing all the efforts done to help our cause done by people of different nationalities because they have show support for us but if its a Mexican super dark brown personshowing face of us, then whats wrong about that?
