For everyone that is saying dreamers are going to get deported, please explain HOW.. HOW????

ICE currently arrests 400 people a day. If ICE stops arresting everyone else, and starts arresting us, it would take 5.4 years to arrest us all. Even if they double their effort it will take 2.7 years. Also, where would they get all the detention space? And what a waste of time and resources it would be given that there really people out there who are committing crimes and should probably be removed.

Listen, we're all afforded due process. This will be heavily publicized. They'll be pro-bono lawyers and lawyers being payed from groups like FWD.us.

We would clog up the immigration courts such that hardly anyone would get deported. It already takes 2 years on average to have a case heard. In some courts, the wait time is over 3 years.....

Take a look at this:

Quote:

The Immigration Court backlog keeps rising. As of the end of April 2017, the number of cases waiting for a decision had reached an all-time high of 585,930. See Figure 1. On average individuals have currently been waiting 670 days, and may have to wait much longer before their cases will be heard. Nine courts that currently account for a quarter of this backlog require some individuals to wait for more than four additional years from now before a hearing is scheduled.

By the time we even get a court date, Trump the Terrible will be out of office.

So someone please explain to me how deporting 800k dreamers works??

DACA is dead. DACA is over. But let's be foreal, there's no practical way to deport us. Sessions knows it, Kelly knows it, and everyone in Washington knows it. So let's stop worrying about DACA ending and start putting pressure on our representatives to find a legislative replacement.

I am.not sure how this works.

in a way yes.. but it will take a VERY long time if when and we are removed.

imagine a class action lawsuit of 800k DREAMERs against the Govt bcuz they violated the "good faith" clause when we gave up our info for signing up for DACA.

but personally myself, idk if i can last that long while it is being settled in court while not being able to work and earn money.

im not scared of being deported, im scared of not being able to work.

I have a question does " due process " apply to DACA recipient with final removal order ? My mom brought me to US when I was 13 yrs old and unfortunately we missed the hearing date , the removal order was entered in absentia by Immigration Judge in 2000

Agree. I have been living in US for 18 years now . I do not even remember what my home country looks like ?
I have already adapted myself to American culture . I Sincerely don't know what to do if DACA is taken away. Scared and devastated

Isn't this is the same rehashed news we have been getting since last week? There is nothing new here. If anything this should be motivation for us to call Schumer's office, Pelosi's office and Paul Ryan's office and find out what the hell they plan to do.

There probably won't be mass deportation, but I can totally see them making us go back into the shadows, making our lives miserable enough in the hopes we self-deport.
