I don't understand all the hostility towards TPS recipients, I don't understand how you can put yourself on a pedestal and declare yourself more important than a TPS recipient. DACA was also meant to be a type of temporary reprieve from deportation. And I can tell you those TPS recipients, have marched right alongside DACA recipients and DREAMers for some type of permanent relief. We all know that its human nature to be selfish, some on here apparently feel the need to exemplify this human nature repeatedly, so yes I understand why so many on here have the opinion of getting the DACA situation fixed first (notice I didn't say only). And if congress successfully protects us DREAMers first than by all means let work towards it and celebrate it if we get it, then we use that momentum to get a solution for our family, friends, and neighbors who weren't as lucky as us. Who may have missed the deadline by a few weeks, or who have been slightly too old to benefit. But to call yourself better than other immigrants because you have DACA or to call your situation more important, more dire than others is frankly disgusting. I would hope that having gone through the struggles of being an undocumented immigrant prior to receiving DACA, to know what it feels like to live everyday in the shadows or in fear of deportation we as a community of DREAMers and DACA recipients would be a little more sympathetic and accepting of our brothers and sisters facing similar struggles. This forum has changed a lot since I 1st joined in back in 2009, and sadly not always for the better...

I support a sensible immigration policy that supports the immigrations as well as the future of this country however, you cannot say that the Dreamers and TPS situation is the same. We (Dreamers) grew up here. Went to American schools, work in American Corporations, are Americans for in every form except for documentation. That is NOT the same as someone covered under TPS and came in KNOWING this was temporary. I am not saying they should be sent back to their home coutries but lets please not confuse or combine the two very DIFFERENT demographics!

The way I look at it, we have to save ourselves first before we can help others. It's sort of like on planes when they tell the adults to put their mask on first before they put on their kids' mask.
