On a semi-related note - McCain is a 'yes' on the Tax Reform. I'm not sure if Tax Reform passing will help or hurt our chances.

Tax reform passing would be the best thing that could happen to us. Republicans would not dare to shut down the government while they are celebrating their first major accomplishment.

Lol. They can announce whatever they want. Debt ceiling comes Dec 8th and no CR will save them. The problem isn't appropriation, government can coast on CRs for years without a proper budget. The problem is that debt ceiling that will void whatever appropriation made over the limit.

So unless US treasury is willing to just print a whole lot of money and spike the inflation I don't see them going on without a shutdown. Best they can do is pretend they can and really go hard with the extraordinary measures, which will move hard breach to January rather than March.
