Yeah, as fond as I am of some Republicans like Curbelo, I do not trust the likes of Cornyn, Rubio, or McConnell. Democrats have the leverage; they should exploit it this year. F*ck it.

Pretty much. If it fails might as well go scorched Earth and keep the government shut down until a democratic president is sworn in. Belgium did fine without a central government for 541 days. Any of us living in the first world states will be fine as well, NY and CA aren't collapsing without the feds, but shitholes like Iowa and Kansas will have to resort to cannibalism.
