I still think he is playing his base. When dream act comes to his hands with the spending bill he is going to say oh well I tried.

He's playing to his base, but he definitely alluding to us (DREAMers) as criminals in this video.

then why not just mention us directly by name? i think he meant that amnesty will be a magnet for criminal illegals to pour in.

I don't know. Probably because we are a sympathetic group and he likes to throw around word such as 'amnesty' and 'criminal illegal aliens".

Two reasons I think. 1) Avoid liberal backlash, Dreamers are a sympathetic group. They’ve received public support from both sides (including Trump voters). I think a poll done by Fox News said that ~60% of trump voters support a fix for DACA. No can specifically say he’s talking about Dreamers, but it also allows the racists in base to assume he’s talking about Dreamers as well as all other undocumented people. 2) If a DACA fix passes, he can has some cover because he didn’t call us out directly.

In my opinion, the reason Trump is ramping up this fear of illegal aliens invading our country and causing harm is because he knows that border security is coming, along with DA. When that happens, he's going to have to calm down his base once DA passes, he will do this by telling them that the illegal alien problem will be solved with increased border security.

He has never till this date said "Dreamers are criminals." I'm not sure what you're referring to. What he's doing is in these tweets like when he says "Democrats want to shut down our govt for illegal criminals" is basically calming down his radical base...but nowhere has he said "Dreamers are criminals." Some words have to be said in order to make lazy Congress do its job. This is the problem. Its the people who are misconstruing what he says like idiots like Ann Coulter who thought he would be "deporting all Dreamers and every immigrant." So...he is playing to his base BY ALLUDING US AS CRIMINALS..would be a more appropriate statement to make if you still insist on it. The two are to serve the same purpose and that is to mislead his idiotic radical base.
