You can feel both and rightfully so.
I will however say I think it is incredibly selfish and insensitive to hear younger dreamers say things like "get over it", "life's not fair" etc..... forgetting the fact that the dream act only came about because of an older dreamer. Hoping for the best for as many people as possible!
I feel your pain. I didn't qualify because I missed the cutoff date by 2 months....

exactly, if we had no DACA in the last 5 years, this shit wouldnt even happen.

with DACA, we have a voice now. but in any other year, some relief for us would never happen.

but once we are legalized and have no more fear of deportation and being in the shadows, we can shine light to the aged out dreamers and bring attention to their plight to the national stage.

Ideology is bullshit as long as it's ineffective, we need to fight for what we have now with reality, gain power and momentum and fight harder for others. We then will have more power and leverage to do so.

the best way to honor them is to come out of the shadows and bring their issue to light w/o us fearing deportation anymore.

i hear you brother; everyone's entitled to their opinion and i respect yours.

Funny thing is you think the compassion for dreamers is a new phenomenon. Go back and look and you will see this is not new.....the only thing new is the power of social media. Again I don't begrudge you for wanting to get DACA recipients taken care off but I think your opinion is based on your experience and not the larger context of what the dream act is about. Just remember there was never going to be DACA without the original Dream Act that was sponsored by Durbin(D) and Hatch(R).

there are lots and lots of clueless DACA recipients who does not recognize all the hard work and foundation that the original Dream Act folks have laid out before we/they received DACA.

what makes me concerned is because they received their DACA within few years of living undocumented as a grown ups they feel they are entitled to being documented. it was easy to get to point of DACA.

some older Dreamers fought for over 20 years. that's all i'm saying. we can't neglect them any longer.

I know it's my fault I didn't apply, but you guys don't realize I have three older brothers who were a priority since they were of working age. By the time I was about to turn 18 the election was in full swing and most non profit and some lawyers were telling us to hold off until after the election because they didn't want to risk giving my documents to the government in case Trump won. By early January last year everyone was saying wait and me not knowing much at the time and also my parents not knowing much we just never filed the documentation.

Yes, I fully qualified. I arrived here in 2002 at the age of 3-4, graduated, never had a run in with law enforcement etc.

I mean the entire population that qualified for daca, not just those who applied.
