See the problem here? This was just a layout plan and it was negotiable. People started panicking like if it was the final draft and was already making its way to the senate. Rather than to negotiate, the Democrats went straight to the MEDIA. This is not how we’re going to get anything done if the Democrats try to negotiate through the MEDIA. It seems like to me the Democrats just want to win the public relations fight and their interests is NOT on fixing the issue, and their failed shutdown attempt was a also a poor excuse on their so called attempt to “save the Dreamers.”

This is what many of you fail to realize for blind party allegiance.

I'm going to repost my response:

-Durbin/Graham release their bipartisan immigration plan
-Democrats willing to negotiate (Schumer agrees to Trump's offer for more wall money during cheeseburger meeting with Trump)
-Republicans run to media and say this is a nonstarter

This is happening on both sides.

No one is blindly following party allegiance. You can think for yourself and agree with Democratic policies. Trump negotiates through twitter all the time! Suddenly it's not ok to respond back to him that way?

I swear some dreamers here are so desperate they can't think straight anymore.

Who killed DA 2010?Democrats or Republicans ?

" democrats did!! We were 5 votes short of getting it!! " yeah we would have had them if 5 of these 36 republicans who voted against it had helped us.

People are reacting exactly as Miller wanted. They see citizenship for DREAMers dangling above them and they are willing to concede more than they ever would in another situation.

Miller is a smart son of a bitch. He knew dreamers were desperate for citizenship he offered it at the cost of hurting our parents and other people's parents. He knew democrats wouldn't support it so readily as well. If anything this proposal just shows trump never had intentions to negotiate as well. Why didn't he negotiated when the democrats offered him his money for the wall? Where was all that condemnation for trump and republicans ?

Yeah, and some really cannot get off their high horses and realize we really aren't in a position to demand anything.

Continue that cycle and nothing gets done Swim.

A bit sad and disappointing to see how the views on this forum has changed over the years. The people here now, are surely not the same crowd as back in 2000's era. Willing to settle for crumbs, and very thankful for it apparently. There basically giving us golden showers, but some of you have your mouths open and enjoying every drop. I do believe, in the world of politics, Democrats and Republicans are one in the same. Republicans however, is a party whom constantly spews xenophobic racist rhetoric. And if its not immigrants, its other minority groups. If everyone here are truly dreamers, how can u side with a group who's message is against everything you are. You can be conservative in value, without infringing your ideals on others. Live, and let life. I have yet to see that from conservatism. They always seem to think they have the right to tell others how to live, and how to think.

That's your opinion. What is your solution? "Oh, we should wait."

You just said it yourself: Democrats and Republicans are one in the same, which is what many of us are saying here. Just because one is crappier than the other doesn't mean I have to align with the less horrible one. If we want to be critical of both political factions, let us be. "Live, and let life."

The clock is ticking for #Dreamers. If we don’t solve this problem in 15 days, the Republicans are going to have to explain to dreamers what their plan is to prevent them from being deported.
I believe democrats are more than willing to blame Republicans. They would love to use us to campaign for the 2018 elections.
