I hope that if they do end up passing some 3 year extension, at least they throw in free travel and aged out dreamers and younger dreamers. There is no point in giving Trump money for the wall for such a bad deal when we can already renew for 2 more years.

This needs to protect aged out dreamers - the age capped and the never-applied for Daca. I will tell you why: One because is justice. Two the Supreme Court just ruled today that immigrants do not have a right to bond hearings and can be detained indefinitely.

The DHS budget is asking to fund an additional 10,000 detention beds for a total of, I think 50,000+ immigrants. They knew conservative judges were going to vote against immigrant rights and provide more bodies for profit. Fuck no.
They will go after Dreamers with final orders without Daca, young and old.

For 7 billion, Democrats and Flake should only agree to this without age caps and allow new applicants.

If Trump wants the wall, then he needs to protect all Dreamers.

What a worthless congress. I know we can’t pick and choose but Trump deserves absolutely NO money if it isn’t a permanent solution. He knows what he wants and he needs to meet the democrats in the middle

In my humble opinion passing this w/ the wall included in it will hurt the immigration fight

1) Giving Trump his wall hence losing a key component piece that Democrats can use to negotiate
2) Well... the wall

He doesn’t really want the wall. He wants whatever Miller and Kelly tells him he wants. I’m not saying not to fight for all Dreamers, but we should know that it’s a very long shot that even just DACA recipients get covered. I just don’t think he really wants the wall because he could have had it already. All he has to do this next election is tell his supporters that Democrats blocked his wall because they wanted to legalize a bunch of illegals and he said no and that’s why they need to elect more republicans. His base will eat it up.

100% agree. I don’t see this as being a good deal at all.
