This guys is doing a great job!

He got some tough questions, but still kept cool and emphasized a compromise.

The Democrats will vote for it because if they vote against it, they become the one shutting down the government.

If Trump actually want the deal, he needs to stop tweeting and blaming the Democrats. After what happened last time, no one will trust him. For all we know, he might turn around and blame Democrats for shutting down the government for illegals. He need to have a bill that Democrats can vote on, not talk talk talk.

I wasn't sure if Trump was really lying or telling the truth when he expressed compassion for our situation way back in 2016. He supposedly changed his mind after meeting with some dreamers during the campaign and (according to "Fire and Fury") was genuinely empathetic.

The problem is he 180'd on a compromise when Breitbart shamed him for it and Miller/Bannon, then Kelly advised him against any relief for dreamers.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think he's waiting for SCOTUS to strike it down so that Dems lose any leverage for a deal. He'll ask to end birthright citizenship, or the RISE Act in exchange for us which they obviously won't agree to.

We're going to lose DACA if that happens and they won't agree to a permanent fix (if the last 18 years are any indication). They'll probably rationalize with "they won't be deported unless they commit a serious crime" and others will point out that we aren't young anymore.

Right before @POTUS tweeted this, @ScottJenningsKY on @CNNSotu proposed DACA & DREAMers for border wall $ as a way out of this impasse, and @RepGutierrez said if he were still in Congress he’d vote for it. https://t.co/JtypHGSc32

Trump wants Dems to make this offer, but if Dems do and it fails Trump will be the first to post on Twitter “Dems wants to give Illegals amnesty in exchange of the wall”

We should know better how that sack of crap do things.

Plus, if Dems offer a DACA fix for the all, he will try to add the 4 pillars.

I can only see this going forward if Trump and the GOP themselves include DACA in the talks

Republicans haven't offered perm status for wall yet. Dems are waiting and rightfully so. They can't be the first to ask for amnesty.

Trump is the worst negotiator ever, and would've starved by now if this were any other nation in the world and he were not rich. He is a scraper, he has scraped by life coasting off daddy's riches and via sheer luck.

His incompetence is so high, that sometimes the universe lets him have a win cause it feels PITY.
holy shit, you finally stop drinking Trump's koolaid...glad you're making sense now

Dem's strategy:

- get republican to talk about DACA for wall first if government is still shutdown
or
- open government, fund DHS for 3 weeks and discuss DACA for wall

both options are to avoid blame for government shutdown. I think they're dug in on these positions simply for the fact that they do not want to get blamed again for this shutdown.

Trump is baiting dems to talk about DACA first with that tweet. Smart guy.

Trump tweet: Nancy and Cryin’ Chuck can end the Shutdown in 15 minutes. At this point it has become their, and the Democrats, fault!
