Nothing will ever pass. Your plan B should be your plan A. One would imagine that everyone would have understood this just by looking at the fact that it has been 20 years since the dream act was introduced. End of story.

To be fair, the same was said back in the 2016 election, 2014 midterms, 2012 election, when the 2010 Dream Act was introduced, 2007, etc.

Just read this post dated from a thread in summer of 2011 in response to a user predicting that a legislation will pass in either 2014 or 2018. 8 years has passed and there is still no change.

Guys,
This is the time to be out there, demonstrating, meeting w legislators.

When we passed the $15 min wage in Seattle, we had every major corp against workers, telling towns, cities, and states accross the nation that this would bankrupt everyone, starting w our own city.

Well, guess what? Bullshit!! Not only do we have the most prosperous economy in the nation, but affordability was crashed by Amazonians flooding in, not working class people. And $15 min wage is on its way to become the standard for a living wage accross the nation.

We finally have the legislation up for votes. Do the work that needs to be done.

Was I wrong? I was warning the Bernie Bros and Jill Stein voters that Trump could get elected and it would absolutely destroy all things immigration and he has. Look at how devastating that last election was and where we could be right now.

For one thing, there would be 2 liberal judges on the court and even if Texas sued, DACA would be secure and extended DACA would also be on the table. Not only that, ICE would be told to stand down so people adjusting their status and other immigrants wouldn't be living in fear.

Would Dream Act have passed? Probably not because Republicans still had congress but they would be singing a different tune and rethinking their strategy instead of being emboldened and digging down.

So here we are again...If Trump wins again, it's over. Nothing will get done and as an added bonus, the SCOTUS will become hardcore right wing, DACA will be dead in the water, and ICE will be knocking down doors to get rid of "invaders". So yes, 2016 was the most important election at the time and now 2020 is the most important.

2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 were all important.

at this point, 2020, 2024, 2028, 2032, 2036 will all be important.

lmao

bro, Senator Durbin said DACAs fate will be tied to the 2018 midterm elections.

apparently it wasnt, now its 2020. if nothing is done for DACA in 2021, the 2022 midterm elections is the most important. if nothing is done for DACA in 2023, then the 2024 Presidental election is the most important.

we’re just in a loop here, guys. lol
