If I came to the US when I was 3, went back to Mexico at 4 and returned to the US at 17---Do I list my address in Mexico when it states to list all addresses since the initial entry?

Hi I am new to this forum!
My lawyer filled out my forms and I mailed my application on October 15, 2012
USCIS received it on the California Service Center on October 19,2012
On October 25, I received an I797C and a biometrics schedule
My biometrics was scheduled and done on November 13

I have a clean record and for my original documents, I submitted my I-94, transcripts dated 2008-present, a letter from George W Bush for an award (ha!) dated June 2007, a copy of my passport, and birth certificate. I had a legal F-2 visa until May, 2012 (whew!) So I'm glad everything is working out quite well.

My question is, what is i797C and how long will I get my approval after my biometrics? I am 99.99% positive that I have no malicious police records.
Also, how long will the wait be for my SSN? I NEED it for some scholarships and college apps/loans.
Thanks so much everyone!

No, you dont state you address in Mexico (if you notice in the PDF) it doesnt give you the option to pick Mexican states. You were not residing in the USA, in Mexico so no.

I have a question; I am ready to send mine but am not sure if we use the USPS Express Address or the other one.

Which one should I use? I am using Express but not from USPS

There is no timeframe, mine got approved 10 days after biometrics, but some friends have not gotten approved and they sent it weeks before me. So its just luck I guess. I got my work permit 11days after being approved, went to social security next day and received my number a week after that. Patience and good luck

Can I ask how old are you know? Have you checked with a lawyer if you are eligible because 4 to 17 is really large gap. That means you were absent in the country for 13 years. You re-enter back after you had already turned 16. The directions say all absences had to be brief.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that post. To qualify you had to have entered before turning 16,with any absences being brief like you said. I'd go to a lawyer.

Yes, but the problem is some people only listen to what they want to hear. Is how bad lawyers take advantage of people. You know. They go to two lawyers one tells them you can't but the bad want tells them yes you can but it will cost you this much. So, the person with high hopes goes for that one. She really needs to speak to a lawyer.

technically you don't qualify. you didn't grow up here and when you come back you were not a child. childhood is from 0-16. even if you go to how many lawyers, lawyers won't find a loophole. lawyer will apply normally then an immigration officer will decide your fate. lawyer will have no say in the decision. there is no loophole unless you fake some papers. some lawyer might apply for you but the qualifications are as follows. had been here before 16 and if you had left it must be brief like 3 months.
