The fact that I have a thumb. Frogs don't have thumbs. This is just one example.

No guarantees or assurances. I am arguing possibility. Possibility (especially legitimate possibility) is better than impossibility.

I can see why you disagree. However, he will aim to address immigration within the first 100 days of his administration. Trump can start building the wall with some DHS funds but will need more appropriations from congress; in addition, Trump aims to discourage illegal immigration through prison sentences. He will need congress to pass his End-Illegal Immigration Act (see below). I am quite sure that Democrats will oppose this type of legislation because it lacks a relief measure and aims to force Mexico to pay for the wall. The latter element alone is ultra controversial and bad for U.S.-Mexico relations. This opposition is essential here because we all know Senate Republicans lack a super majority and need a handful of Democrats to pass anything in the Senate. This puts Trump in a position to settle for gridlock/fail to fulfill his border-wall promise or compromise; this is the possibility that he may do so, especially if we consider the articles that 2face and I have been posting (i.e. only deport criminal immigrants, acknowledges deporting 11 million immigrants is inhumane, & supports a military option for immigrants).

"End Illegal Immigration Act Fully-funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall; establishes a 2-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence for illegally re-entering the U.S. after a previous deportation, and a 5-year mandatory minimum for illegally re-entering for those with felony convictions, multiple misdemeanor convictions or two or more prior deportations; also reforms visa rules to enhance penalties for overstaying and to ensure open jobs are offered to American workers first." (source: http://www.npr.org/2016/11/09/501451...first-100-days)

Let's assume a few Democrats and Republicans do reach a compromise on immigration backed by Trump. What is the probability that a bill will pass both chambers? The easy answer NOW is 0%. But, is it really 0%? Republicans and Trump would have the opportunity to "redeem" themselves by passing a bill that helps our community and advances national security. Having people living the shadows undermines his objectives of establishing law and order and deporting criminal undocumented immigrants.

Republicans don't need to redeem themselves anymore because they control the entire government. They control the congress and presidency. How I see it is Trump will appoint a judge he will urge them to bring forth DACA into the Supreme Court. The court will find it unconstitutional and then he will get rid of it. There is no doubt here. The question is : what will he do with us ?

Dude, forget about DACA. My analysis does not center on DACA. My point of analysis is on permanent relief (such as immigration reform or some Republican version of the dream act--something permanent).

In terms of Republicans controlling congress, inaccurate. How many votes are needed in the Senate to pass anything? Answer: 60 + How many Republicans will be in the Senate when the Trump administration begins? Answer: 51. So, what do you mean by control? You make it seem like they will be able to do anything they want to do. Nope.

Whether you want to admit it or not, Republicans and Trump will need to compromise with the Democrats in the Senate to get shit done. Period. Unless we are surprised, Democrats will oppose Trump's End Illegal Immigration Act for two main reasons (1) No relief for immigrants (2) make mexico pay for the wall. This act was one of the pillars of the Trump campaign. If he wants to deliver, he will need to be cater to Democrats in the Senate.

Is not about the what they control now. It's about what they control in the future. If they want to be on control in the future they need the Latino vote. They need us.
