Everybody chill, I know this is a dark time(again) for us. The situation is still developing, let's not panic at the moment. We should wait and see what happen in the future. September isn't that far away, we will know soon enough.

Yea, all the articles I've seen are all based on that closed door meeting with Kelly. So it's the same news being reworded.

Perhaps this is the "heart" Trump will show.
Not saying or signifying what you say may be correct or incorrect, but technically, while in removal proceedings you can't be removed.

If the administration plans on increasing enforcement as the years go on and adding more individuals to the docket....we are looking at 5 years + for getting those cases through if DACA holders are included. It is untenable. The BIG irony....the government might then again offer....DEFERRED ACTION...

Mass deportation is like the worst case scenario and unlikely to happen. Just like citizenship for all is best case scenario and just as unlikely to happen. Don't be too pessimistic and don't be too optimistic. There will be something for DACA recipients in place of DACA when DACA is rescinded/canceled. What that will be we do not know because there are all these what if scenarios and all these articles are posted every day and we all get hyped up or nervous. We don't know what is going to happen exactly so relax and just make plans and do what you gotta do. But don't panic and go all out we are all gonna get deported and die and get depressed. I really believe with all these people and senators and congressman talking about DACA, there will be something. It just isn't top priority for them like healthcare is, so we gotta wait and see what happens come September. I am hoping and praying for the best.

Thank you for the clarification. This sounds like it would be a long ride back home. So you are saying that if we loose DACA, and we get caught, we would technically receive a work permit again?

Technically?

It is totally within the president's power to offer Deferred Action. I think DACA will have a fighting chance in court if Trump defends it

I believe the current backlog stands at 600,000, and some cases take as long as three years to be heard adding 800,000 more would overwhelm EOIR. The idea of deferred action is to focus enforcement resources where it is needed. If the Justice dept. wants to prosecute that many more cases and DHS wants to enforce the law by adding that many more individuals to the docket...the wait time for getting your case heard would be untenable.

Also, I am already hearing many locales having issues with capacity due to the increased enforcement efforts. I don't see anyway around it...there is an actual limit to immigration enforcement.

Yes, I am just speaking should the President withdraw it because of the lawsuit. The result is still very likely Deferred Action in the form of C14 not C33.

Also, I am wondering if some of these red states are doing this for an economic advantage. Most detention space is in the deep south in red states. This is not only just about the states hardship on driver's license bs.

^Can we ban this idiot already?

Either way, as others have said this is nothing new, and I doubt there will be a mass deportation of any sorts.

Just sitting here with our fingers crossed that Dems will give and give until Repubs concede with a 'ok now we'll let DACA's stay'. I just hope they bend over as much as it takes.
