The democrats aren't going to compromise for this bill. Maybe as part of CIR, but not for just DREAM Act.

Even most republicans won't support this bill. It's dead on arrival.

Most GOP wants cut on low skill chain immigration.

I would agree.

And this is why nothing ever gets done, because either party is never pleased.

Democrats should combine it with CIR.


Everyone with approved petitions I am sure would be grandfathered in... In any case, Democrats would never agree to this... But hey, I give Republicans some credit, at least they put something on the table.

This is too drastic a change without doing something about the majority of the undocumented population.

Republicans argue they want border secure first, but democrats don't want that.

So a CIR for most undocumented people will be impossible.

It's never going to be secure enough for the anti-immigrant Republicans.

I would disagree with that.

That would be hypocrisy, and the democrats can use that as advantage.
