Yeah I'm sure all those liberal slave holders in the south switched places with conservative abolitionists in the North.

After all we fly rebel flags up here in New York.

(This is what "muh party of lincoln" actually believes)

What an ignorant thing to say. Ever heard of the "southern strategy?"
Go to your community college and enroll in a history class or something.

How many votes do they need to keep government open?

So, one Vote4dream.org contact that is in D.C. and is pushing for a responsible compromise just told me via Facebook that mostly all of the Democrats are waiting on the Democratic leadership for a decision on a government shutdown. If the leadership (e.g. Schumer , Pelosi, and Hoyer) say a government shutdown is necessary, then it seems more likely than not that other Democrats will align themselves with the leadership and push for a compromise. It seems like the votes are there, but the GOP needs to address this issue in December.

McConnell and Ryan are just engaging in political posturing. To all of you here, please call every Democrat and pressure for a shutdown is necessary. We all know that kicking the can down the road will mean that will have t give Republicans more border security concessions, that's assuming IF they want to address the issue then. Democrats will not have in political leverage, and you have the midterm elections.

Someone tell me if I'm wrong, but implementation of whatever bill is passed and signed into law shouldn't take more than 1 month, 2 months tops right... USCIS already have all our info, I don't think the application to apply will be that much different than DACA..
