I think we are all just frustrated that democrats have been silent for the whole week while trump is the one who is bringing this up again and again. Neither side should just make ONE offer and back out. Yes, the Dems did the gang of six bill. Trump also started off by saying he wanted the goodlatte bill which was crazy and with only bridge act. Now at least he say okay we will give u path to USC and cover 1.8mm ppl. That's another offer - we haven't seen an offer from democrats yet. Yes this man is hard to negotiate and it's easy to just sit back and relax but if they care enough about us they should do more or at least offer a counter. Dont get me wrong - im a die hard democrat, always have been. But they lost the presidency, house and senate and they need to wake the fuck up. The reason why we are talking about democrats is because they are supposed to REPRESNT US. We are supporting them and we give them a narrative to talk about. It is time that they stop using us as a poster child and do something for us. Talking is one thing but you need to SHOW up to make it count. Sitting still is just as irresibonsible.

Sorry but that's BS. The 2018 election is EVERYTHING. If the choice is getting a shitty deal right now that only covers DACA kids and absolutely devastates every other immigrant and waiting a year or two to get a much better deal, waiting is a better strategy as a whole.

And how exactly will it help? By Nov time there will not be a deadline/urgency for Trump republicans to do any daca deal given it has already died (and they have already taken the bad publicity). You think they will be jumping up and down for a deal? If you actually thinks that winning back the House alone (we know that Senate will be unrealistic) will help us pass any relief then you must be delusional at best. And that's assuming democrats will still have the momentum or appetite to push daca by then - a big IF. And then what? We wait and wait and wait till the world becomes perfect one day?

Finally, I'm not saying Trump's deal as is is great. I don't like ending family sponsorship or the wall either but we need to try our best to negotiate. Worst comes to worst - I personally would care more for Dreamers who have been in US for decades vs potential immigrants through lottery or distant relative sponsorships. Note that interior enforcement/everify is not part of the proposed deal, so current immigrants already in the states are not affected. It is easy for you to say that we should wait a couple more years - some of us will expire by then and our lives depend on it.

People in history have fought and suffered much more for equality. What's the worst that will happen after march 5th? Half of DACA recepients will be coming up for renewal? What's the worst that will happen there? They'll be without a work permit for another year? Well, hopefully in the last 6 years with DACA, they have a nest egg to and can survive a year and if not, they can get a taste of what life is for their fellow unlucky undocumented that they keep wanting to throw under the bus. Most of you don't appreciate DACA anyway.

They're not going to chase you around with a fire truck or set dogs on you. I seriously doubt if anybody is going to get deported unless they're picked up for something else. If there is a major Democrat win in November, everybody will be better off for it.

damn man you sound so fucking salty with this post. If DACA is expired, im pretty sure we’ll be fine. but shit i wouldnt wish what you just said so they can taste what its like to be undocumented.

DACAers will be fine, im more worried for the younger dreamers who never knew how to go thru life by being illegal. ur just as selfish as the DACA kids u hate.

with ur attitude, i hope none of us gets legalized, only younger Dreamers should get a path forward. the DACA kids and the aged out Dreamers can survive here or any other country cause they are already hardened.

I second that. What’s up with that post? Where do you get the idea that “most”’of us don’t appreciate DACA? Lame.

“All we gotta do is wait until the Democrats take over Congress in 2018, a BLUE wave is coming”

oRly? Some dreamers must have forgotten that a legislative solution needs a president’s signature, a president in which Trump will still be pass 2018 midterm elections.

Just go back and read the posts on here from 3-4 years ago. There are many posts of people saying Obama could have done more for them but didn't. Complaints about having to spend a whole $400 for it and how they shouldn't have to. Also a lot of posts generally showing a lack of appreciation for what it did for them. More recently, read all the posts about how Democrats are "just the same".
