- Citizenship for dreamers
- end lottery visa and implement a merit based system.
- those dreamers who become citizens can’t sponsor parents
-this would help the “amnesty” Assholes get a piece of mind lol
- it doesn’t completely kill our parents chances on becoming citizens, there would still be a chance.
- give that fucker his damn “wall” (he doesn’t know most drugs come from tunnels 🤦🏼*♂️

Ok I can agree to that, so the merit based system is where you would expect parents to get relief from ?

Wow! This is the stupidest argument I’ve seen on DAP for quite some time.

Those people who say "citizenship for all or nothing," "include my parents or don't legalize me," "I'd rather stay undocumented like my parents," don't have a live built for themselves here. Some of us risk losing the education we worked so hard to achieve, now earning 6-figure incomes, paying hella taxes, with mortgages, cars.

If you have that, you cannot afford to lose the ability to work. So no, "include everyone or no deal" does not work for some of us.

A compromise is needed and a compromise will have to happen if we want to be in a better position to help our parents, whether they remain in the US or return to their home countries.

-Jeff Sessions is also expanding an existing program aimed at holding deportation hearings for immigrants while they are still in federal prison. That effort is known as the Institutional Hearing Program. Holding such hearings before inmates' sentences are finished would let the government deport them immediately when they are released. Trump is also relocating judges to speed up deportations process.
-ICE agency has already put out requests to identify privately-run jail sites in Chicago, Detroit, St. Paul, Salt Lake City and southern Texas to jail more undocumented immigrants.

So all of this is already happening and it will continue to get worse with or without a DACA deal and this administration will eventually find loopholes to expand their deportations process. At this point I would want us to get a green card at least to visit my parents if they do get deported and be able to help them out financially.
He can hire w/e fuck he wants. Deporting 11 million will cost 400B++. No way they can do it with their current budget.

Word.

As they say before a flight. You need to put on your own oxygen mask first before you can help anyone else. It's not selfish, it's fact.
