no, i don't see a clear reason for them to want to block something if what they really want is to fix some immigration problems.

The problem is they want to attach all those stupid pillars to DREAM Act. So they will block it if they don't get all the pillars. We'll be back in the same situation we were a few months ago unless the are open to keeping it simple - DREAM Act for Border Security/Border Wall. Of course if that were the case, we could pass this right now.

most of those pillars don't even affect anyone negatively.
it's about limiting immigration, which is going to happen eventually, so might as well get something from it.
giving citizenship to DACA'ers isn't stupid.
border security isn't stupid.
ending the DV lottery isn't stupid.
reforming laws that allow chain migration to happen isn't stupid.

It is stupid to fix the issue. when you benefit from keeping dacaers and dreamers illegal to get votes.

Except he listens to Miller and Kelly telling him it's not a good deal.

Our opinions don't matter. The Democrats won't agree to limiting immigration in that way. So yes the pillars are stupid because they were added to ensure this deal would fail.

We need to have more Fox News Dreamers. Show them one other similarity between dreamers and Americans: we ain’t all liberals. I mean I doubt you’re gonna vote for the Dems if you become a citizen. Unthinkable already said he won’t. Let’s get them on prime time.

uhhhh. what kind of thinking is that....
so if republicans won't agree to a deal that doesn't tighten immigration law, then democrats are to blame for not including said things?

of course not, they need to work together to find a middle ground instead of it being "my way or no way".
DREAM act for border security isn't a middle ground, just look at how many people voted against that.
there needs to be something between the USA act and grassley's bill that can swing over more R's.
