There's some fallacies in his/her comments. For one, he/she calls him a stock market investor and by definition it has risk. However, to be a successful investor in the stock market, you minimize risk and take the highest probability of success. This stock market "investor" also says: "Going to college doesn't guarantee you will get a desired job nor will you obtain a useful skill."

The vast majority of people would say a college degree is a good investment. It is a risk but comparatively, it's small and has a high probability of it turning out to be good. If it a stock, it would be a good investment. But this "stock market investor" wants a "guarantee" before investing. There are no stocks in the stock market with any guarantees or almost anything in life. As Benjamin Franklin would say, the only thing certain in life are death and taxes.

I would go further and ask this "investor" for their definition of "socialism" and what he/she thinks about the bail out for the banks and the bail out for the farmers. I would wonder how this person thinks about price gouging during a disaster or if this person thinks FEMA or any other disaster agency / funding for disasters with tax payer dollars should exist. It's probably a waste of time though because this person already made up their mind.

In my opinion, if this person isn't experiencing & living the dreamer life, his/her view on immigration would be vastly different. It's funny because we're forced to have an experience the majority of Americans will never experience, they can only empathize. Yet, a lot of people here would be at each other's throats if the dreamers get legalized.

That's why I say if Trump gave citizenship to DACA people tomorrow, the majority would probably vote for him in 2020.

Very true and if you are a first time applicant it takes at least a year. I can’t imagine not having daca when you are eligible.

I think that I come from an alternative universe where the number of dreamers was 800,000 not 700,000

I hope once CIR is passed in the future, everify is required all across the US so there are no more people growing in this country with no status.

Ever heard of Venezuela?

Ask Cubans how they feel about socialism. socialism DOES kill and it robs populations of their humanity.

Who in their right mind would want a socialist government? Private property is the reason why the USA is still the richest country in the world.

Socialism is only popular in college campuses and among those people that think governments actually work.

If rather work for my money than settle for crumbs from an all powerful central government.

Democracy and socialism can't coexist.

yeah.. im calling bullshit on this, it may not work here in the USA but it works in Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, New Zealand, Ireland, Belgium, etc. its called Democratic Socialism, it just needs to be implemented right.

you went to a public high school here in America? have Social Security? Medicare and Medicaid? you are paying for all of that through your taxes which are aspects of Socialism and providing a safety net for it's citizens.

all of this shit you just posted are from fucking hearsay you hear from other people. lmao

"private property is the reason why the USA is the richest country in the world?"

tf are you smoking?.... u sure its not the entrepreneurial culture? or immigration? or World class research universities? A financial system that supports entrepreneurial activities?

you do realize you can own private property in other countries right?

I really hate discussing socialism with people. First, tell me what you think the word socialism means and maybe perhaps provide some examples of such.

Then I would ask you of what you think about price gouging during a disaster or if you think FEMA or any other disaster agency / funding for disasters with tax payer dollars should exist. What do you think about the bank bail outs from the Obama years and what about the farm bailouts of the Trump years?

Venezuela is a country that's always get brought up but what about other Nordic European countries? Especially considering the fact that you say "democracy and socialism can't coexist." Would you say corruption had a hand in the downfall of Venezuela? Of Cuba?

So if you think a government doesn't work, what's the solution?

Personally, I believe one shoe does not fit all in terms of governments and economics.
Communism works in China because of its population density and homogeneity.
Socialism works for Nordic nations because of their relatively small population and previously well off status.
The diversity of the United States, coupled with its lax immigration rules allows for capitalism to strive.

I also do believe communism may work in many African countries as a means of getting out of poverty, then a gradual shift to capitalism would be necessary to maintain growth, like early soviet era.
