I’d be fine with this if it somehow got rid of the 10 yr ban so that I can GTFO while still being able to visit friends and relatives from time to time. But it does not look like it will. I’m amazed that they will come up with some bullshit status and won’t simply remove the ban. Why are they so convinced everyone NEEDS to stay. I’d much rather just have the ban removed so I can leave than to have this bullshit status they are proposing. I think the truth is they just want to continue to keep us in limbo so we continue paying taxes like a bunch of fucking morons. Yes, I think I’m a moron for having stayed this long but it is hard to just go without the possibility to visit when our entire life is here.

You do realize the ban is a way to discourage people from overstaying / coming in illegally?

Yeah, but I think it does the opposite. It keeps people from leaving. They could remove or decrease it especially for childhood arrivals. Also, in the same vain of what you just said the anti reform peeps argue that any form of legalization works against discouraging people from coming here.

I'm not trying to be negative here but, i do not think this will pass. Because millions of people be able to get Driver Licenses, Health Insurance, other benefits. This will be too much burden on the States, especially red States. It cost States lots of money to States.

Also, why does democrats need parliamentarian permission to give millions of people perole. President or DHS Sec. can give perole via memo, don't need no ones permission.

I really hope democrats can pass something even if it doesn't benefit current DACA. Hope our aged out dreamers and parents can finally become more of a part of this society. Its crazy how much having a SSN and an EAD can change somebody's life.
